I have been ordering from Grubhub with my fiancé for a couple of months now and have never had a problem, until now. We decided to give sosaku a try for the first time. If I could give them a 0 star I would. My fiancé and I are in the living waiting for the food, and all of a sudden we hear consistent BANGING on our glass door and bay windows. So I got up to the door and tell sosaku's delivery man to please not knock on the door like that bc he could break the windows as well as the screen door. He then tells me he's been calling and ringing the doorbell and no one answered. Now, my phone and my fiancée's phone are both on ringer as he is a business man and I a therapist and need to be on call in case of emergency. And we were both sitting right next to the door by the living room. I tell sosakus delivery man this and he continues to yell and scream in our private neighborhood. Then proceeds to throw the delivery bags at me and walk away throwing his hands in the air while yelling. We call sosakus to inform them what their delivery man just did, and they weren't much help. All they said was that they'll talk to the manager and the delivery guy when he comes back.
Their delivery man just assaulted me in my own neighborhood by throwing my food that I had already paid for through grubhub and they had really nothing to say about it. I told them we'd press charges then all of a sudden they're willing to give us a credit on our account. Ten minutes later I get a call from a number I don't recognize put regardless pick it up as sometimes my patients call me from unknown numbers. And guess who it is? The delivery man. Now, that showed me he for sure had my number the entire time. At first I was thinking maybe they took down my number wrong on grubhub, but the fact that he's calling me after the fact I reported him to the store shows that he had my number the WHOLE TIME and for some odd reason didn't call it. When I say hello, he says "WHATS YOUR PROBLEM??" Really? Who does that? You throw food at a customer, yell and scream in their neighborhood, bang on our windows, and you're asking me what's my problem? I just hand the phone to my fiancée bc I have a huge feeling this man is sexist since as soon as my fiancé got on the phone with him his whole demeanor changed. My husband told him we were going to the police bc he wanted to show up on our property again. Horrible experience with this place. I will never ever purchase from this place again and I hope no one ever experiences what I did. I really would press charges but I have a feeling that he does not have his working papers and is an illegal immigrant bc when we asked his manager if he does she would not answer. Now if he has children to feed I would feel too horrible to take that away from them. Perhaps he was having a bad day and we unfortunately were his outlet to take out his aggression. Either way, I will never purchase from this...
Read moreFood: To be honest, the lunch box was alright. It comes with gyoza, rice, California roll salad and your choice of meat. I chose the chicken tempura but it tasted rather bland and boring on its own. Usually it comes with sauce but there wasn’t any so I used the sauce from the gyoza. The gyozas weren’t my favorite. They were rather hard on the outside. The salad is just a lettuce and dressing, pretty normal; like the rice. And I have no complaints on the California rolls. Drinks/ service : So my friend ordered bubble tea and when it arrived, she tried it and immediately said “ I don’t like this. We all took turns around the table taking sips, I was last. I looked at them confused because it tasted fine to me just a bit like condensed milk. But the after taste hit. It tasted like spoiled milk. I didn’t want to assume it was spoiled milk but we all unanimously agreed it tasted like spoiled milk. I asked the waitress to take it back and instead of trying it herself she said, “no one complains about our bubble tea, maybe you just don’t like bubble tea.” I may not drink bubble tea a lot but I think I know what SPOILED MILK tastes like. She eventually asked what we wanted to do and just asked for water in exchange. When she went back to the kitchen we could hear her yelling but we couldn’t understand what she was saying. We could just make out certain words and had a feeling she was talking about us since we were the only ones in the establishment. I don’t want to assume but we could tell she wasn’t exactly pleased. Would I come here again? I don’t think it would be worth it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to someone who is trying a Japanese restaurant/ experience for...
Read moreMy husband and I order from Sosaku pretty frequently (enough that the lady answering the phone recognizes our voices). The sushi is always fresh, the vegetable gyoza is some of the best we have ever had and I appreciate them always accommodating my request for only mushrooms in the spicy miso soup :)
They are always super friendly, super quick and always on point. Never had a single issue with my order. I will continue ordering here and suggest everyone else does the same.
P.S The lady answering the phone (im ashamed i never asked for her name) is amazing. She is friendly and efficient and I want to specifically point out what an asset she...
