Forest Bagels — Restaurant in New York

This place here is my go to bagel store, the best bagels are made here in my truly honest opinion.

Yes there are plenty of great bagel stores all over the island, hell, all over the 5 boroughs, but this one is mine!

I currently live in the outskirts of Charlotte NC and thought I write this review cause I can't for the life of me find a decent bagel store all around and outside of Charlotte, even the last place I gone to just today (called Family Dough Bagels) claimed to be "The Best Bagel Store" in Charlotte didn't come anywhere close to what a true New York bagel is, but Forest Bagels definitely DOES know how a true New York bagel is suppose to be made!

For the love of Bob, please, PLEASE open a Bagel Store in or outside of Charlotte! NC in general is in desperate need of a true bagel store! I have no doubt in my mind if you ever decide to, you'll blow all the other NC bagel stores right out of the water!

P.S. Don't take it too offensive with how I feel about the atmosphere, almost every customer who lines up in the store looks war torn and absolutely miserable, which I can't blame any...

Been coming here for years when the owners were Egyptian and despite them having funny personalities that didn’t matter because the bagels were always amazing and they always got the order right one of there popular bagels was the egg everything. Today I came to sandwich, first time in a year or so since the bagel owners switched to Pakistani or Indians. I was looking to give their egg everything a shot but they didn’t have. As a matter of fact the very limited bagels they had did not “look” like they would be good. How knows they might actually be great but I didn’t want to gamble if it was something I didn’t want. So I walk over to the deli counter and asked them if they had roast beef and they point to a thin slab in the casing that was all brown, looked very old. So I settled for the BH pastrami with cheese and Lt. I like to think when I ask for and order I’m very clear and detailed. So the deli guy asked me to repeat again and I did with no problems. I have NEVER seen bagels so big and Fluffy. I was in Staten Island to go to Cherubini. On the way back out, I decided to stop and get a few bagels to commemorate my visit to S.I. and my leaving NY. I'm a Queens baby so we have bagels but these were BAGELS!! I literally cleaned them out. The first gentleman that was bagging my bagels gave me. a purpose to smile that day. The older gentleman was so nice, so respectful. And for less than $15 I walked out with over 15 bagels of a great variety. I took all the pumpernickel and wheat first. I was able to share bagels with 5 people. I ate mine straight out the bag! The smell was so enticing. I had to double bag them to get out the store. Moist, chewy, delightful interior. Freshly baked, nicely cracking exterior. I needed nothing; no toaster, no butter, no eggs. Nothing!! Had I not eaten it so fast, I might eat been able to catch a photo.
