Fu Wing — Restaurant in New York

Hole in the wall Chinese takeout place. Don't expect fine dining. Good value.

Food is standard American Chinese takeout style. I grew up in Hong Kong and find it disgusting, but my American friends grew up with this and thought it was good.

Wontons are doughy and kinda tasteless. More dough than meat, unlike the Cantonese style wontons you get in Chinatown.

Shrimp with lobster sauce tastes ok. They give you big shrimp, but no peas in it. Just shrimp and cornstarch and egg sauce and a few bits of carrots.

Brown sauce stuff tastes like standard brown sauce.

There are only three staff in the entire place. The first time I went around lunch hour, one guy was butchering a chicken, one guy was at the wok, and the lady at the counter was chopping vegetables, ladling out my soup and handling the customers and handling the cash.

No seating. Just takeout.

The food is cheap for New York and it's decent value if you don't want to spend much to fill...

WORM IN MY FOOD!!!! I ordered chicken wings and French fries. When I first opened the container I saw a black spot on my chicken wing. I ignored it assumed it was from stove or something. As I began eating my first chicken wing, I noticed the black spot began to crawl up my fork. When I looked closer i noticed it had legs and it was a freaking bug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know what kind of bug this was but I’m beyond upset. I went back to try and get a refund and the Owner refused to give me a refund because the bug was no longer in the plate. As much as I love the food and been coming here basically my whole life ima have to stop cause nothing turns me off more than a place you're suppose to trust over charging you cause it makes me think, how many other times have they done this ? I ordered food that was 40$ flat even used their menu they left with my food that had everything marked. They charged me 42. Again it's light but how many other times have they done this? It stacks up. I plan on confronting them but I'm leaving this here for others. Please be careful and always double check ya total.
