Glendale Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I am so saddened that I am writing such a negative review because the owner and staff are very nice, HOWEVER I just threw away a banana cream pie that was soooo stale it should NEVER have been sold. My daughter and husband went there on this snowy day and my daughter chose it for her "birthday cake". As soon as I opened the box I could tell it was not fresh. I could not even put my finger through the whipped cream!!! The counter person should never have sold this cake! If it wasn't for this snow storm I would have brought it immediately back to the store. Instead it is in my garbage pail. They made a sale but lost a customer of 15 years! So disappointed and upset! I asked for the owner to call me back...let's...

I'm guilty of not writing five star reviews often, but Glendale Bakery is honestly phenomenal. I just started sixth grade, and I often buy pastries here while walking home. Once, I was buying a giant chocolate chip cookie for my friend, and the man behind the counter offered us the cookie for free. I was confused because, of course, I normally don't get this kind of offer, but he insisted for us to take the cookie. Now, I've been to a dozen bakeries before, but I feel like the workers here are sincerely solicitous and generous. Not to mention, their food is actually delicious. I really hope that this bakery keeps running for many...

Old time favorite. We would get our birthday cakes there when I was a child. After many decades I was in Maspeth and decided to stop in for some eats. I ordered a tuna on a pretzel roll ,boy even without celery and onions the tuna on pretzel roll was delicious. Their cookies are the best. I bought some to take home to Florida but unfortunately the ants loved them too lol! I recommend this place for sandwiches and bakery items. They have been in business for many decades and I will go back again on my next trip! Thanks...
