Good Eats — Restaurant in New York

We arrived at 9:45 am and were seated immediately. My party consisted of 3 adults and 1 child. I ordered a coffee, my niece ordered a hot chocolate, my sister ordered an iced coffee and my boyfriend ordered an orange juice that never arrived to the table. After about a 10 minute wait, we ordered our food: crab cake eggs benedict, lumberjack french toast (served with eggs, sausage, ham and bacon) and a sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with homestyle potatoes. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out. A table of 4 adults that were seated a little before we ordered our food had ordered, received their food, ate and paid when we received our breakfast. Then, once we were finished with our food, it took our server another 15 minutes to bring our check. The quality of the food was definitely NOT worth the wait. The homestyle potatoes were more like scalloped potatoes and mushy. I will say the challah bread french toast was delicious. The crab cakes had a sweet taste to them with a ton of carmelized onions on top of the crab cake under the egg. Our bill total was $45. What a waste of time and money. When I brought my concerns to the attention of the owner, he simply told me that he was short staffed and apologized. Unfortunately for this establishment, we will not be dining here again and we do not recommend...

I am so happy to have found this spot! I’m a very picky eater, and it’s hard to please me in all aspect. But this diner really blew me away. From the ambience and decor, to the service and most importantly to the food. Everything was on point. My waitress was super nice. I ordered the chicken soup, chicken and waffles and a latte. I was a little skeptical of the fried chicken but man, I’ve had chicken and waffles from the Waffle House in Atlanta, North Carolina, and even in Texas. This blew me away. The chicken was crispy, not too greasy, and amazingly juicy. The waffle was fresh, and made to perfection. Crisp, not too hard/crunchy, and the honey drizzled on it was just the perfect amount. The latte was delicious as well. You can tell they used good quality coffee beans, no burnt taste, and they topped it off with a little bit of cinnamon powder on top it seemed. The chicken soup had an abundant amount of chicken and rice, very brothy and delicious as well. Seriously, everything was amazing I was very impressed. I can’t wait to come back here again. I saw this place through a Google search. It has a pretty good rating. I have to say that I like this place. The ambience was casual, the service was terrific, and the food was above average. You certainly received a quantity of food that was more than the cost of the food. If you're looking for large portions of decent food at a very reasonable price, this is the place for you. While I was there many families came in to eat as well as single people sitting at the bar or at tables. I was greeted and sat promptly. I was given enough time to read through the menu and ask questions as needed. It didn't take long for my food to be prepared and delivered. I also asked for a dessert to go and that was accurately ordered and set aside for me. After they brought the food out the waiter noticed that my phone was about to die and asked me if I needed to have it plugged in. I answered affirmatively and he took the phone and set it on the charger. This was definitely above and beyond your normal wait service.
