Key Food Supermarkets — Local services in New York

I've been in Maspeth since 1983 and remember when this was an A&P. Now, Key Food has that cute country supermarket feel. I stayed away from the old location, down the street, because it was so cramped and I couldn't do the diagonal aisles. One 🌟 was taken off for the staggered aisles. A good flow is so important to my shopping pleasure and this store just doesn't have it.

My first time here, I go down an aisle, and midway I have to make a crucial decision. Do I go left or right?! I ended up in paper products and pet food. The aisles aren't straight. Why?!!

You should have given me a call before the aisles were set down. I would have run over with a ruler.

On to the remaining 4 🌟. Great decor and very clean store. The cashiers and deli counter staff were helpful and pleasant. The meat selection is fresh and cheaper than Stop & Shop's regular prices. And the meat is trimmed so well, I shed a tear from happiness. Skip the deli salads. I have already returned twice and finally got a Key Food...

This is a very good supermarket, clean, well run and well stocked. I wish I could remember the floor manager's name; he is a really nice (rather young) guy and is committed to client service. I can tell he treats the staff well.

I usually go there for the fresh fish, at the fish counter manned by ROSA. She is great. Friendly and eager to please (serve). The fish is really fresh; and she has all kinds of fish and shellfish. My wife loves her fish and Rosa's service, too.

Rosa and her husband used to have a fish market next door. Thank goodness they are still here in Maspeth serving us. Rosa gets a lot of business on the holidays. Her fish is always fresh. She and her husband are very conscientious, dedicated business people. Their service is great, and I wouldn't go anywhere else...

I have an interesting story to share. Recently had foot reconstruction surgery, learned that I have an advanced type of arthritis. Miss Rosa at the seafood/fish counter always greets everyone with a lovely smile and a warm hello. I was taking a lot of arthritis medicine and the pain has been awful. I thought last month the Swordfish looks great, let me pay Miss Rosa visit. Turned out, I shad less pain and slept better that night! Few days later I order the salmon steak and sword fish. Had less pain amd less medication. I started eating mostly the fish and seafood from Miss Rosa. A small portion...
