This is the 2nd time I came here and the first time was to attend a birthday banquet.

Place is rundown and not at all appealing

The food wasn't bad but the service was horrible. I was told that my host booked a room that can accommodate 3 tables of 10 people per table so we can be seated comfortably.

When we showed up, the restaurant made us sit in a room with 2 tables, and 14 guests per table.

The food came all at once and before dessert was even served, the waiter shoved the bill to the host and began clearing the table with people still eating.

As it was a birthday banquet, guests were taking pictures and the restaurant staffers yelled at us to stop, get out of the room as they were seating the next dining party.

I was taken here again on Mid Autumn Festival (Sep 10) and this time the restaurant made me wait for one hour before being seated despite after we made a reservation with a credit card deposit of $200.

We ordered off the menu (instead of having a more expensive customized menu) and the dishes were much smaller and the quality was actually quite mediocre.

As it was Mid Autumn Festival, we added a live fish for steaming and that's when the fun began. The fish were taken from the tank, weighted, tagged with a table number and the price put on to our bill. The live fish cost $40/lbs, and at 2 lbs 4 oz and cost us $90.

As the ordered food arrived and were literally thrown onto the table (as if we are dogs), we saw our fish being served to patrons that we think comes often (we saw the tag). We complained for 45 minutes and we were cursed at by the well trained staff, told to shut up and not to cause any trouble...And finally a tiny fish showed up (see picture). And they rapidly served dessert of sweet soup, low quality mooncakes, and cut fruit, and handed me the bill. THEY DEMANDED THAT WE PAID IN CASH. The bill was $750.

When I put the minimum gratuity of 15% after what they have done, they chased after us and ask the valet not to give us our cars unless we pay a minimum of 25% gratuity.

THIS RESTAURANT IS A FRAUD RUN BY THUGS, AND PROBABLY PATRONIZE BY SIMILAR TYPES....

There are much better restaurants with better food, decor, environment and SERVICE in Flushing (Grand,Congee Village, Golden Palace,Dong Yue and etc)

STAY FAR, FAR, FAR...

Went with family for dinner over the past weekend. We booked the table (5pm) in advance as it was CNY. We got in 15 minutes earlier and waited to be seated. We got seated with other three families in the same small room. Shortly after we got seated, we were told to place order quickly as it was a busy day and needed to have the table ready for next round dinner. So we were rush to place orders. However, we waited for 1.5 hours before getting our first dish, while the other three tables in the same room were having more than half way done. I overheard that two of these three tables indeed walked in and did not book in advance - they were just told to finish dinner by 7pm for next round so they would be fine. Very badly we were left hunger during the 1.5 hours waiting time even we asked the waiters/waitress where our dishes were but were kept being told that they were coming... So after long long wait, our first dish came in around 6:40pm, then waited another 15 minutes for second dish, then all of a sudden all dishes came at the same time but the last two dishes. We were told that they could not be made and our table needed to be ready for next round dinner (all four tables in the room had been booked by a big family). So after waiting for 1.5 hours, we were rushed to finish dinner within 0.5 hours!!!! That is very ridiculous. Regardless the fact that we booked the table in advance for dinner, we were waiting with hunger while other walk-in customers were severed much quicker. What's the point of booking??!! The more ridiculous thing is the waiter who placed the order and who looked like the waiter leader for that room had given us a very bad attitude without even feeling much sorry for the bad service. We thought we would have a joyful dieting experience with family to celebrate CNY; however, the bad service really destroyed the whole spirit. Food is just average but service is pretty pretty bad. There are tons of other Chinese restaurants out there in the neighborhood. Would not go back at all. I very rarely write a review for restaurants, but can't help sharing this out as the experience is really disappointing!!! I wish I can give half...

Delicious authentic Cantonese Chinese food - my friends and I ate here on a Sunday late morning. It's known to be crazy busy especially during the weekend Dimsum service time range. However, they were very efficient with getting us seated amongst the hoard of patrons after a 10 minute wait. The appear to have a streamlined system with getting everyone served efficiently. After we were seated there were two servers ready to take our tea orders and the ladies with the Dimsum carts came rolling in. I was happy that they stopped at every table and especially ours to announce what they have in their carts. From previous Dimsum restaurant experience, I'm conditioned to have to yell out what I want or to chase down carts to find out what delicious Dimsum treasures are hidden in the carts as they hastily maneuver away. Well, these ladies were happy and patient with announcing their delectable wares by our table and made sure we were served what we wanted without having to chase them down. Whew! That's stress that shouldn't have to happen when one simply wants decent food service. Well, Lake Pavillion passed with flying colors in this regard. The traditional steamed Dimsum dumplings were all excellent and the ones that contained shrimp such as the "Hargow" had a good amount of shrimp with no cheap fillers. Asides from the basic Dimsum we ordered other traditional vegetable and seafood dishes. They were all excellent. I'm normally very sensitive to MSG and I didn't get any reaction (no extreme thirst or headache) after eating. So it's great that the chefs know how to bring out great flavor without the need to add artificial flavor enhancement. Perhaps a little MSG might already be in the soy sauces that are part of the ingredients but not so much to provoke an adverse reaction from me. Anyway, I definitely want to return...
