Golden Wok — Restaurant in New York

I love Golden Wok for quick and cheap Chinese Food.

They have a dish I haven’t seen at other similar Chinese takeout spots called Spicy Basil Chicken which comes with white rice or for an extra buck or two, you can get fried rice instead—a pretty good meal for under $7-$9.

I love this dish—it’s not anything super spicy, it just has a quite mild kick to it—and it’s also not crazy greasy.

Definitely don’t plan to eat-in. There’s just one small booth as it’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall type old place, and certainly nothing that offers much atmosphere. But for tasty, rather inexpensive takeout or delivery, they’re very good.

Very good to note: it is CASH ONLY—both for takeout as well...

BE CAREFUL!!! I usually order with my husband from this spot and the food is always quick to arrive, but when we ordered yesterday the food came within five mins of us ordering. Usually we find this amazing but I should’ve seen it was a red flag. I got the worst food poisoning of my life!! I ordered the sesame chicken with pork fried rice. The meal came with what looked like pieces of chicken skin covered in the sauce. I stopped eating once I noticed and not even an hour or two later I got so sick. Not going to go into details but I had all the symptoms of food poisoning. Will never be ordering...

I would give this palce 5 stars but I have my own unique standards that are influenced by health and quality. This establishment does use MSG and Hydrogenated Soybean Oil which are critical to your health. I dont eat here anymore as a result.

If that is not a problem or concern for you, the food here is amazing and has great portions. Since they are a busy business, the infredients arw used frequently and fresh. If you would like a quick bite and dont mind taking somw health risks, this is the...
