Harlem Burger Co. — Restaurant in New York

Harlem Burger Co. is a nice non-franchise (spellcheck keeps wanting to type non-chain... interesting) kind of burger place which places priority on the appearance of the beef patties as far as portion size and "beefiness". These guys are fat and juicy and cooked to your specifications, with appropriate condiments and accompaniments, especially potatoes, as one would expect. Maybe I have to return for a larger sample size (yum!) but in all honesty, I was expecting Outstanding Fried Potatoes, and the ones I received were Pretty Good. This is not a harsh criticism, by any means, just shows to go you the wide acceptability spectrum of a particular class of plant root. A proper cross-section relating surface area and min/max longitudinal dimension has a direct relationship with frying medium type and temperature and dwell time in the fryer. There are a plethora of variables contributing to the Final French Fry Phenomenon which are critical to the overall result. Harlem Burger Co. has these under control. I used to love this place, but I’m really not sure what is going on with them. They seem to be infuriatingly unable or unwilling to get simple orders correct. In the last month, I have ordered the same fish sandwich from them three times, and every single time my order has been badly overcooked, wrong, or both.

I almost never post reviews, but as a chef of ten years, this type of stuff makes our industry look terrible. I like supporting local businesses, but it’s become clear to me that Harlem Burger Co. is simply unwilling to hire decent staff, or train them in a way that makes them effective. WORST service I have had in my life. I came to pick up my order and it was NOT ready. No problem I am a patient person, I work with the public also, and wasn't in a rush. I told the women I will be sitting at the table and just to let me know when it is ready. 30 minutes passed and no one said anything, and I was trying not to be annoying, because I work with people like I said, so I wanted to not give anyone a hard time. She pulls my food from under a HEAT LAMP, so I'm waiting, she knows I'm waiting and NO ONE came over to give me my food or call me over? I just got home, haven't even eaten the food yet... I will NEVER come to this place again. It was unacceptable for me to wait so long and the food was ready. Awful service, the worst I've had...
