Island Kitchen Chinese — Restaurant in New York

I don’t know if they are under new management, but this past year the food has really gone downhill. Just ordered a small vegetable fried rice and specifically said extra mushrooms twice (because I know they try to skimp out on you) so I paid extra, and then got my rice. There were only 9 small pieces (I say pieces because they don’t give you full mushroom slices, they chop up the already sliced mushrooms) and I, being the extra person that I am, pieced those little pieces together and it didn’t even form one full mushroom. The best though is when I called to explain, the woman on the other line was tying to argue with me about how they gave me so much extra mushroom in my order when I was literally staring at this half of a mushroom. They brought me more mushrooms unwillingly and I won’t be dining with them again, the food is flavorless anyway so it’s not...

This was my first time ordering from here ,The food was disgusting ,every single item did not taste how they normally do ,I got shrimp toast which was very soggy and thick and had a very fishy taste ,the steamed wontons I got tasted very bland and had very little pork ,last but not least I got an order of beef and broccoli ,just like the other items it did not taste the same either , which was no surprise the beef did not taste beef ,I’m not sure the meat they use ,the sauce was thick like gravy these are all items I had many times from other places , the only thing they have going for them is they are open 30minutes later than most places , this is why I ordered...

I ordered from them because I wanted to try a new place. The order taker female was in quite a rush. I did ask her 2x for my veggies6 to be cooked well done. Well they weren't. 2ndly the chicken was not good at all. It was slimy and did not even look like chicken. The veggie rice would of been good without the abundunce of chopped raw onion. The spring roll was just average but at least tolerable. Im sorry to say I wont be ordering here anymore.. The 2 stars goes to their driver who was...
