Food is mediocre. Atmosphere is atrocious.

Dined here tonight. When we arrived there were no other customers, and the lights were up so bright I thought the place wasn’t open yet.

I wish I had taken that as an omen to go eat elsewhere.

On top of the stadium-bright lighting, Jiku also plays Spotify Free. Which means that every thirty minutes or so, a radio ad plays with some spokesperson loudly reciting ad-speak in the air directly over your table. Try enjoying a conversation with your fellow dinner guests while this goes on — or don’t. Clearly Jiku doesn’t care if you do.

I worked service industry for over a decade, and I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen a GM chastise staff for leaving the lights up too bright after sunset. Apparently no one involved in managing Jiku has ever received this crucial restaurant training.

The food? Solid meh-plus. Or halfway between meh and meh-plus.

We started with wings, which in the end would prove to be the best part of the meal. A little dry for my taste — probably 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

I had the pork ramen. Which was okay, but I’ve made better ramen at home for half the price. My fellow diner ordered the bulgogi noodles, which she enjoyed — but noted that it had nothing but beef and noodles. No vegetables, no kimchi, nothing to make it interesting.

I try not to live with regrets, so I’m going to hold this experience in my mind as a positive: Now I know not to eat at Jiku.

I also feel it’s pertinent to say I love Korean food. I’ve eaten at great Korean places in New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, DC. And I’ve never encountered anything less than superb, complex, fresh and exciting food. Jiku is not this. Jiku is the worst Korean food I’ve ever eaten.

If I haven’t made it clear, we will not...

My sister and I were looking for Korean wings and we were excited to try this place since it’s in our neighborhood. We called around 6:30 to make two orders, they close at 7:55pm weird but okay. The guy who answered the phone was super impatient and rude he actually said can you hurry up I have more orders. Excuse me sir you want the business or not the freak… 🙄🙄 I was already ready to hang up. Since my sister ate here already she’s like “na but the foods good”… 🙄 One thing you are not going to do is rush me to order food from your establishment at all and take my money! — I’m hungry though.

I ordered large boneless wings in sweet chili, the small wings in spicy garlic and fries. I give the food a 8/10…the wings were good and the spice level was there. The boneless wings were good as well I will give that a 7 as well , some pieces were really chewy which was annoying. I did like that they didn’t let the food sweat in the boxes while waiting to pick up. I paid $50 for all. Not bad and I have leftovers . The woman who called me to let me know my order was ready, she was nice so that calmed me down.

Im not going to rush back there any time soon based solely on the man’s nasty tone. I will quicker...

We were really happy to see that a Korean restaurant had opened up near us. Hopeful that we didn't have to go all the way to flushing every time just to get good Korean food and we were not disappointed. We truly enjoyed eating at this place. The decor of the restaurant is very nice. The service was outstanding, Josh was our waiter and he was very attentive, polite, and helpful. We ordered soy garlic wings which were very delicious. Just the wings alone makes this place worth a try. Crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside and not oily tasting at all. The seafood pancake was great, very rich seafood flavor, and fried to perfection. The kimchi fried rice tasted amazing and the portion was huge, easily shared between 2 people, possibly 3. The bulgogi Burger was okay, bulgogi meat between two slices of bread, more a sandwich than a burger but I still enjoyed it. The only disappointing thing for me were the fries which we ordered the special fries and honestly there was nothing special about it, tasted like normal fries yet we paid extra for them. Still though this is a great place to come and grab a...

They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have beautiful outdoor setup. Some of the boneless wings were juicy and delicious but then others were hard and dry. The flavor of the soy garlic sauce was good. The veggie dumplings were pan fried and steamed and great. The spicy seafood ramen was flavorful and filling. The chicken teriyaki noodles were flavorful and the chicken was softer and tastier. The summer breeze mocktail was delicious and the peach soju was good too. I had asked in advance for dessert to be brought out for my friend’s birthday but they didn’t do it so that was sad. Overall a good menu with delicious food amd drink options. We were full and satisfied.

Jiku is an amazing addition to the neighborhood, the owner is so friendly and personable! The service was great and don’t even get me started on the food. I grew up on Korean food and I have to say the Bulgogi here is so tender and flavorful. The wings are crispy, and hits every delightful part of your tastebud. The Udon was a great add as well. The only critique I have is I wish the fries weren't steak fries! While these were seasoned well, I'm not a huge fan and prefer my fries thin and crispy. Jiku’s liquor license is pending, when that comes though this place will be hard to get into. This Restarunt is a must try.
