UPDATE 3/9/24: The delivery driver complained AGAIN about receiving a $3 tip on a $20 order. Like sure, it isn't the greatest tip in the world, but considering the travel time to get from Jing Fu House to my workplace is THREE MINUTES, I feel like a $3 tip is fair. Dude wouldn't leave until we gave him more money. Absolutely insane behavior.
I don't care HOW GOOD the food is there. That kind of behavior is ridiculous.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I work nearby and order food from here pretty regularly. No matter what I order always tastes good and will continue to order from here.
The spiced rib tips are my favorite. It's actually a little spicy which I love and not very saucy, but still very flavorful. I've also tried their fried chicken, their barbecue chicken, their wings, their bbq rip tips, egg foo young, and many more dishes and they were all VERY good.
The only problem I ever had here is a few months ago with a delivery driver who was insistent that I tip him more than $2 for an $18 bill (with tax). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for tipping people fairly, but it's only a 2-minute drive from there to my workplace or a 6-minute walk. My manager who bought the food only had a $20 bill so the remaining $2 was for the tips, but the delivery driver wanted more.
And to be fair, my manager ALWAYS tips more than $2 for the same amount of food, but just couldn't this day and the delivery driver did not leave until I reached into my own wallet and gave him 3 more dollars.
Like what was that about? I was pretty surprised by this behavior and know for sure that the bill wasn't more than the $18 because he showed me the receipt at the time of delivery and still wanted more money. So yeah, that was pretty weird, but I've still ordered a few times since then without issue and will continue to do so.
Oh, and one more thing. Although their menu says that you will get a free drink with a minimum order of $17, sometimes they do not give it to you or will not give you it even if your order is at $16.95. If you know your order is above $17, sometimes it's best to just ask them on the phone to make sure they give it to you.
Also, for the past year they have been giving this tea/juice drink in a sealed plastic cup by default. It's pretty good, but if you want a can soda, you have to...
Read moreWorst Chinese spot in New York. Have been ordering here for years and find that they try to cheat you every time by conveniently forgetting one or more of the item so you already paid for.. then the restaurant tells you they’ll give it next time only to do the same thing! Owners here will pinch every dollar and give you the least amount of food possible by only sending one rice for two orders. I didn’t even mention the delivery guy who pouts if you give him what he considers too small a tip after the store’s screwup. He will not hand you food until you pay him the amount he wants then tell you not to order again if you don’t want to. No worries because I’m never ordering here again and neither should you! Save your money, time and frustration for some place better where the food is...
