I loved going to this coffee shop but now they’re training these new men who seem to have no experience at all.
Your new barista just told a customer he can’t make his drink because he doesn’t know how. Why is he working if he can’t make a drink? And why is he serving half filled iced beverages?
Your new male barista can’t even fill the drinks to the top. He served every customer a drink with at least an inch on the top of nothing.
Additionally you hired some white man to help make food and he visibly looks like he is struggling to do anything right. His presence clearly bothers the experienced women baristas who are forced to babysit this under skilled male.
The fact that I can’t get my beverage made correctly anymore means i wont be coming here any longer. It is a waste of my money to get an under filled beverage.
Also i saw him use his dirty hands to tamp my espresso shot. Why are his bare fingers swirling around in the grinds of my shot?
This used to be a solid spot in the neighborhood but that is no more. Try sky coffee shop instead, they actually know what...
Read moreWent in last Thursday before my shift to grab breakfast. I asked the barista for an estimate of how long it would take to get a breakfast sandwich. He said it would take approx 5 mins. I saw he was prepping other breakfast sandwich orders so I went ahead and ordered one. After he took my order, he proceeded to finish prepping the other orders for the oven and went to the back. After 5 mins, he returned to finish those other breakfast sandwich orders and serving those customers THEN proceeded to get started on my order. I asked him if he was just getting started on my order and he said yes & he’d have that order ready in 3 mins (currently it’s 7 mins since I’ve put in my order). I asked if I could just grab a pastry instead since I’m in a rush. He said sure but needed to refund my order. After refunding me, I was annoyed that I’m now running late since I’ve placed my order that I decided to not grab anything...
Read moreI was so hype to check out this new neighborhood coffee shop/cafe and Katan did not disappoint!!! The energy here is friendly, chill, and was perfect for a morning with my friend and doing laptop work. The barista Mark was so so sweet. I loved the banana frappe (with cold brew) and the star anise cortado. Also loved the delicious egg and cheese sandwiches on sourdough! We got our sandwiches serviced with the crunchiest yummiest pickles (a must). I can’t wait to come back here and try all the other items on the menu. Overall, I can’t wait to see what this spot continues to offer! I talked with the owner and he mentioned new upcoming menu items/inspirations and pop up events, so I highly suggest checking the Instagram (@katan_nyc) for offerings....
