Formerly known as "The Chicken House", this establishment closed and re-opened in early February as "Kew Gardens Chicken" after a number of weeks.

There are three poultry vendors in close proximity to each other: "Stop n' Go" chicken (located on the Queens Blvd side of the block); the recently-opened franchise "Texas Chicken and Burgers" (which offers some pretty decent halal fried chicken) -- and the one and only Kew Gardens Chicken. I've sampled all three, but while the items are slightly higher priced I find myself gravitating to this establishment.

For only $4.50 you can get a hefty Quarter Chicken ("Leg and Thigh" OR "Breast and Wing"), a pita and a side of barbeque sauce. ($7.50 will get you a half and $12 will get you a WHOLE -- but honestly, I've found a quarter to be more than filling).

In addition to the chicken KGC makes some pretty incredible Buffalo Wings, pork chops (halal this isn't), fried whiting fish (though I've seen salmon on occasion) and a range of side orders including mac n' cheese, grilled corn and vegetables, rice and beans (I personally recommend the vegetable rice or Greek salad).

Interior Decor -- this is a pretty bare bones establishment, with limited stool seating around a counter that circles the interior. Given its proximity to the Q10 bus line it can be packed during rush hour as hungry travelers stop in for a takeaway dinner -- that being said, there's nothing so peaceful as coming here on a rainy day, pulling up a stool and diving into a steaming helping of chicken doused in barbeque and watching the traffic out the window. It's the simple...

I’ve ordered from this place before with no issues but recently had a HORRIBLE experience with whoever picks up the phone there. I placed an order on doordash and upon arrival majority of my order was missing. I called the place and the dude had the worst attitude when I mentioned my full order didn’t arrive. He made it seem like I was crazy and proceeded to say I received what only came up on the order, which makes no sense when I can visibly see my order on the app and was charged for the full amount. His tone with me was ridiculous when it’s me whose order was unfulfilled. He then says the order isn’t coming up while huffing and puffing and then proceeds to say I need to come pick it up? He angrily mentions he’s the only one at the store and at that point I’ve had enough and called him out on his horrible customer service to which he then started literally yelling at me on the phone. Basically, this person doesn’t check the order properly when it comes in, sends it out halfway, then accuses me and doesn’t want to be held accountable. This was such a disgusting experience. They’ve definitely lost a...

Has a bad smell like a wet rug!!!!

Came here for the first time, decided to get a half chicken, with two sides. (Food was good) chicken would be better made to order, or at least taking it off the heat till the order comes, so its still juicy.

The guys working there seemed cool! Can't say anything bad for them. It was a young guy and a older guy. Had a good conversation. But i do feel bad they have to work in that small space.

In the end, the smell is what made it a bad experience. Whoever the owner is, needs to do something about that, because that makes you question the quality of the food, while still okay but makes you wonder.

Not sure if anyone else had this experience..?

Sadly I came here because of a recommendation from IG, I hope that influencer didn't experience this as well. Cause...
