Ehrenreich-Austin Playground — Attraction in New York

This playground has two playscapes - one for younger ("ages 2-5") and the other for older children. There is also a swing set with baby buckets, a handicapped adaptive swing, and big kid swings. There is a building with restrooms and water fountains. There are also basketball courts and plenty of benches around the park. The main drawbacks of this park for parents is that the park is long and narrow with no divisions between the various areas. It's easy to lose sight of your little ones, plus there are multiple exits and people aren't diligent about keeping the gates closed. The LIRR runs along the length of the park, so it's neat if your kiddo likes to watch the trains. But, especially if your child is sensitive to sounds, the trains come by frequently and are...

Very nice playground. Close to LIRR (Kew Gardens) and blocks from Austin Street shopping area. If only the drivers slowed down instead of running through the pedestrian crossing, (which does have speed bumps) where children cross frequently then it would have been 5 stars. But unfortunately I think it's a matter of time before a child is mowed down. I keep a close eye on my little one, I think all parents and caregivers should focus and pay close attention when attempting to cross...

Nice little playgrounds for various age groups and abilities along with basketball courts and a water jet feature. Lots of seating in convenient locations. All equipment except bathrooms (under renovation) are in good working order. Downsides are It's hard to find parking nearby, and also it's kind of compact so very minimal room for kids to roam freely. Will likely return at sometime...
