The German fair was very good. The potato pancakes were out of this world, the waitress was friendly, and knew the menu. Unfortunately if you're a wheelchair user this place isn't for you. I had to drive my wheelchair through the street (from the "parking lot") in order to get to the door. The slope leading to the front door (then back outside) is very steep. There's no curb cut that leeds to the restaurant. I had to drive my chair through the street, then through some dirt (mud pile) filled with debris of the lot next door. There's a 2-3" piece of wood on the floor of both threshold doors that leed into the restaurant. The waitress did get a worker to help me in, but it's 2019 (killmeyer's should be accessible,) and if I can't get in on my own I usually turn around. It took me long enough to get from the "parking lot" (through the street, mud, and debris) in the cold to get to the door so I decided to go inside. The emergency exit has two of three steps so if no one's willing to help a person in a wheelchair down those steps should there be a fire or other emergency blocking the front door you're screwed! The parking lot is small. There's approximately 8 parking spots. None of which were wheelchair lift accessable or even painted to denote there's a single parking spot for a person who has a disabled placard. I had to wait for a woman (who was also disabled) to come out, and move her vehicle so I couldn't get my WC lift deployed in order to get into my van. Sincere thanks to the women who had to leave the restaurant (maybe in the middle of her meal) in order to move her vehicle so I could get into mine. I wish it wasn't as it is because I would love to return. But it won't be happening. In...
Read moreThe food is fine. The beer taps taste tainted. To the point where you don’t recognize your favorite beer that you are supposedly drinking. The building is very worn and bathrooms need updating. I gladly excused this when Ken owned it because the staff was respectful and food was excellent. Now our favorite waitress Ashley is overworked and gets no help from the hostess and useless bartender who stay on their phones instead. Brandon is an excellent bartender, so i would not want to confuse. I used to spend thousands a year there. But the rude, arrogant, entitled behavior of the hostess with her bartender have ended that. Example. My waitress was way over worked. I waited over 15 minutes for a beer refill. I saw it wasn’t coming. I also saw the hostess and the bartender on their phones. So instead of complaining I got up and went to the bar to order. The bartender actually had the stupidity to tell me “ we don’t do that here , your waitress will bring it”. I told him I want my beer now, so he obliged( magnanimous of him) and refused my cash. He insisted that it be put on my bill. The hostess reinforced this stance on a subsequent visit, in her rude way. So, after thousands per year spent there we have moved on to a restaurant that understands the hospitality business. We go there for dinner and beers every Friday instead. And the big parties that we had at killmeyers in the past, we now have at nicer places. It’s a shame Killmeyers has declined so. But I won’t be back there at least until the hostess and bad...
Read moreAfter visiting this restaurant, I was extremely disappointed with the service. The waiter seemed completely disinterested in our presence: he moved slowly, ignored our requests, and neglected our table. We had to wait for a long time before he finally acknowledged us. The result was a feeling of unpleasant anticipation and disappointment. I cannot recommend booking a table at this establishment due to such poor service.
However, I want to highlight a positive aspect - the friendliness of the bartender. When I approached him after a long wait and explained the situation, he immediately responded and offered assistance. The bartender poured me a beer without unnecessary questions and did so with a smile, which pleasantly surprised me.
Overall, the experience of visiting this restaurant left much to be desired due to the insufficient attention from the waitstaff. However, thanks to the friendly attitude of the bartender, and the best beer the impression remained somewhat positive.
P.S. It became quite amusing, and after I ordered the beer and it was brought to me, I set a timer to see when I would see the waiter again. And in the photo, you can...
