Knapp Street Deli — Restaurant in New York

Large deli with great selection, run by competent people. They are open 24/7. The grill/sandwich short order cooks are very good. They have a proper big kitchen in the back that constantly caters to a large hot/cold buffet/salad bar. I've made substantial detours to come and get their spare ribs at lunch time.

If you're a night owl, keep in mind that the grill and buffet/salad bar shuts down overnight.

I am a very frequent customer, and I highly recommend this deli. It does get a little crowded in the mornings and around lunch, because food is good. You may stand in a 5 minute line among local regulars. But short order cooks (two or three of them when it's busy) are fast, and they have two cash registers with fast professional cashiers.

I have nothing but praise and high recommendations...

I was going to the movie theater with my friend, my dad had given me money and i went in to get a bottle of water. The bill i had was a 50, i gave it to the cashier, she marked it with the pen, she looked in the light and put it in the machine to check the bill, ALL showed it was real, but she refused to sell me anything. I’m not a adult i’m 15 but i should be treated like any other customer buying something from them and spending my money. They don’t deserve my money or yours. There cashier is very rude too before this we were waiting in line and some guy skipped us literally when we were about to pay and she rang him up when we were waiting...

Food on the buffet is fine one positive note they do want you to wear gloves when you're self-serving so that gives a customer a level of comfort for sanitary reasons the most disappointing factor is that it's very expensive for example brown rice and some chicken thighs they're charging around $9 a lb before you know it I had spent $15 it wasn't much quantity! where I could have purchased a 1.5 lb rotisserie chicken at $7.00 and a 6oz container of brown rice for $4.00 and had left overs.The only issue I can see it's the container trays that are made out of a heavy duty paper/plastic material and that puts on extra weight...
