Krispy Kreme — Restaurant in New York

I honestly don’t know what these one-star ratings are about. I’ve been a loyal customer of Krispy Kreme for decades. From when I lived in PR to when I moved to NY...and now I’m so happy they came to The Bronx! You will never find a Krispy Kreme with no wait time, and if you do, you are very luck my friend! To me that’s not a bad thing. It’s an exceptional product, and worth the wait. Furthermore, if it’s really not that big of deal to you, then you can opt out of waiting and settle for a different (mediocre) product.

I’m one to try different methods of doing things to see what works best. With this pandemic going on, I tried the Delivery option my first time around. That wasn’t very successful.

I decided to go myself the second time around, and it was only Online purchase. I placed my ordered outside over the phone, and once ready I was instructed to go inside and pick up my order from a table - sounds odd, but even with all the social distancing the staff was very inviting and warm. I did experience a bit of a wait.

About a week later, I called and received notice of them “allowing three guest at a time with mask on to purchase in-store.” I can’t tell you how fast I got there. There were two lines, one for in-store and one for online. I waited about 20-30min to go in to the shop. The transaction was flawless, and the store looked great. Even though they seemed very busy (with what I can assume were online orders), they were very polite and nice. Been back two more times after my first in-store experience. More or less the same wait time and the service is always great! Nice positive change for the area.

Now to rate my overall experience with all three different ways of ordering... Dear public, if you’re not happy with a service that you are paying for, please ask questions before judging or talking bad about a particular company or person. The way I see it during this pandemic is a miracle a place like Krispy Kreme is even open. I asked around, and found out that it is because of what their product represents that they’re allowed to be open - happiness. Furthermore, for those ordering online because you feel it’s your convenience over anything else...imagine being an essential worker that still have to follow strict rules of how many people can be in one space. Now picture this same (limited staff) establishment receiving over 100 orders for pick-up at once...do you see it yet?? Yeah, it is just doughnuts, but the doughnuts don’t make it to the box/bag by themselves. For the Delivery service, I was told that it was DoorDash at fault - in different words. From pass experience with DoorDash, I believe it.

Be patient people and grateful that we have Krispy Kreme near by!

Update 4.3.2023:

I've come to this location multiple times and always leave happy. During their first year of opening, this place would get packed. The line was outside and everyone would social distance. Now im usually able to come in and order immediately, with little to no wait.

The last three times I've visited, the same ladies have been behind the counter. I've come by Saturday afternoon. The ladies who work that shift are amazing. They work FAST and have a whole routine set up. You ask one of them for the donuts you want and she repeats them loud enough for the lady at the register to hear. By the time you turn around, you are rung up and they're just waiting for payment. I love it.

The donuts are always good. Really soft and fresh. I love the different donuts that come out during the seasons and holidays. This week i picked up the mini spring box. I enjoyed the different donuts it came with. It came with chocolate frosted donut with pastel sprinkles, green frosted donut with a marshmallow bunny with candy feet, blue frosted donut with white circle sprinkles and piped yellow frosting with orange to create a baby chick and last was a yellow and orange flower with sugar sprinkles. They were all delicious and a hit with the kiddies. It was 16 mini donuts for $20.49.

This time around i also ordered coffee from here. I have never tried any of their beverages. I had an iced caramel coffee. It was surprisingly good. The coffee was strong. I liked it.

Overall, i will continue to support them. The donuts are GOOD.

This location has been holding up pretty well. I have both got to this location to pick up donuts and also have had delivery.

I much rather go in to get the donuts. Its cheaper and you also have a chance to see the donuts and pick the ones you like best. They prices are a little expensive. Especially when you compare them to other donut places that are around. However the donuts here are worth it.

My favorites are the glazed and jelly filled. Most of the seasonal donuts arent that good. This last visit i got two Halloween donuts and the black sugar on the outside is too grainy and like sand. It also turned my kids mouth black. We wiped it all off. During the holiday in December they come out with a few more in present design and trees, etc - they aren't good. Too much food coloring on the icing. The icing filling on the inside isn't good.bThe glazed pumpkin spice cake donut is absolutely delicious.

Overall i will keep visiting...

I went into the store today and was charged for the wrong items and received the wrong items.The store was not full. I received a pumpkin spiced doughnut (after conversing with the employee with my mother that I am uninterested in any seasonal doughnut but the pumpkin cream cheese which this location did not have)I ordered the cake batter and did not recieve it. I did order a large decafe coffee with pumpkin flavoring and received a possibly caffeinated coffee (the employee did brew a decafe pot for me i just dont know of fun employee used it) with no pumpkin flavoring.I am so unhappy with this experience. I was in a rush coming from court and trusted my order to be right and it just wasn't. The store was clean and the employees were very kind this is not a personal attack it is the principal. I spent my money and didn't get the customer service in the form of correct order. I have three witnesses to this order being misinterpreted that I order cake batter, definitely did not want the pumpkin cake doughnut, and I needed decafe. I have a medical condition that is sensitive...
