Boca Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in New York

So I came out here today (1/26) for my friends birthday brunch. We were literally the first ones there and got seated right away, mind you WITH our coats. The brunch deal itself was good with alot of good food options, I had the rum punch and its exactly what's it called. There was way too much rum and was very strong but everyone has their own preference. Our waitress Claritza was very attentive at first, making sure our glasses were kept full. During the middle of brunch I had to step out real quick to make a business phone call leaving my purse with my party and taking my coat with me outside. Mind you again we were the first people to be seated and no one told us anything about a coat check until it was time for me to come back inside which the very rude security guard was blocking me from entering stating that he didnt remember seeing me nor did anyone else that was standing by the front door and that I had to pay to check in my coat before entering. AGAIN mind you I left my purse with my friends so there was no way I could pay them $5 to hang up my coat. They were refusing to let me back in and so I just walked my way back to my table and then this very rude short spanish lady (manager?) started following me to my table demanding that I need to check in my coat all the way to my seat so I ignored her and carried on with my brunch. Sorry but if I don't want my very expensive jacket checked in I shouldn't have to especially when I had my coat with me the WHOLE entire time until I needed to step out to conduct a business call. Then while me and my friends are dancing are having a good time, here comes the waitstaff removing everything from our table trying to rush us out. I put on my "contraband" coat and started dancing with it to make a point LOL cause im petty and here comes "Miss Legend Queen" asking me if we were leaving since I had my coat on and again making us all feel like we were being rushed to leave. Next thing I know my drink was cleared from the table and party was over due to the waitstaff rushing us out. Idk if it's a Bronx thing o porque parezco una gringa pero soy puertorriqueña!! Pero do better! I will not be coming back to this dump again!

I been here 3 times on a Friday it’s been the same experience all 3 times. music is great, but this place needs to improve the service. When I say service I mean the time from when your customer sit to when a waiter approaches the table. It took us almost an hour to get our waiter to come and greet us and it’s because we told the bus boy about it. If not I could imagine how much longer we would have to wait. Boca offer a great happy hour deal and when that happens you get a lot more people which is a great thing more business. Seem that your waiter are overwhelmed they are all over the place maybe hiring more waiter for the rush hour so that your customer speak better about they experience or want to come back or recommend other people. It feels that when you wait long it so you wait so long you won’t get the happy hour deal and that isn’t fair to your customer. Waiter should greet they table more often instead they customer looking for them to either Order more stuff or paid for the bill. People don’t come to the place for only music they come for the whole package food, drinks and, music. I hope boca reads they comments and will concern improving what a lot of people is saying about the place. As I’m sitting in the restaurant I’m writing this review. My table and I arrived at 3pm and it took 2 hours to get our entrees and never received our appetizers. We came to try and enjoy our day off at the very popular brunch. I feel terrible for recommending my group to come here. The vibe was great with the music and ambience but the service was very disappointing. When we asked multiple times within the 2 hours how much longer for the food we were told it was coming and it took 2 hours to arrive. Not only that but being charged entrance and valet and then be at a place where we are being completely ignored is very saddening it’s not like we are here for free. The waitress never really knew where our food was and even sent the bus boy to sort it out because we were not believed when we said we never got our appetizers. When we do get the food it is very noticeable that it was waiting for a while before it was brought to us. To top it off they they bought us 4 plates of food without bringing us the appetizers (this is a party of 5). They never even apologized the the waitress stated “are you battling with me?” When she herself didn’t know we didn’t even get served. Horrible service, this place is a rip off. When it comes to customer service and us being patient an simple apology would’ve gone a long way. But not even that we could get for our time sitting...
