Weird to see reviews that complain about the staff. The girls are always very friendly and as accommodating as they possibly can be. LaDolce has been *the* neighborhood bakery since I was a kid, and they’ve always had consistently good pastries and bread, with excellent cakes. Although their cakes are not fancy-looking for Instagram, they are always really tasty, and that’s what matters more IMO. Still the best Italian bread in the neighborhood and when the sfogliatelle are fresh, they’re just perfect and leagues above anywhere else. For the super mild criticisms: there are always flies in here in the summer. I know it’s inevitable but because breads are left open on the shelves, there’s an ick factor when you see too many of them. Perhaps the bread could be placed behind a glass shelf. It would also be nice to see a general change of interior. Glass is often foggy, making it a bit difficult to see the pastries. Decor hasn’t been updated since… forever I guess. Prices, like everywhere else, are a bit too high. Other than that, and that it’s in the madness of Woodrow Plaza, it’s a solid neighborhood staple.

My wife came into the bakery on Wednesday May 10 to buy a loaf of RYE BREAD because she saw a sign in the window ā€œ RYE BREAD is Back-the girl behind the counter puts it in the bag as if it was thrown up in the air and then stuffed into the bag ; here is my photo of how she packed the bread, it’s to be done uniform like any other loaf of sliced bread; do you think this is acceptable-I don’t!!!!

Got home and my pastries were stale and lobster tails were sour I went to this bakery for years . I called and they told me they were sorry . But no offer to replace. I have the box and will throw them out . Just was expecting a little better service . Disappointing .

I ordered a custom birthday cake with banana filling and strawberry on the top of the cake, like I always do. It’s always so good. However, this time, it was so bad. Not only they made the wrong filling with sour strawberries, also the cake was wet. It tasted so bad. So I called the next day, which was Sunday, to file a complaint. But they were too busy to tend my call. I understand. So I called Monday, explain to them that they made the wrong cake, and the girl told me she would talk to the owner about it, and took my phone number. She said she will get back to me within a week. Not a call that I have received from them. So I called them and told them I didn’t want a refund, but a cake with banana filling, which I originally ordered. So the girl took the reorder information and says, ā€œwe will make the cake, but you have to pay for it.ā€ I was so angry after I heard that. I already paid $34 and change, to a bad cake that was made wrong for me. Now I have to pay for the cake again! Unbelievable. Every year, I used to order birthday cakes there at lease 4 or 5 times, and buy cookies. But after this horrible experience, I will not patronize their...

I’ve order cannoli filled Vanilla cakes at least 4 times from this place. Each time it’s absolutely delicious. It’s loaded with good quality cannoli cream and they’re not cheap with it. The cake is so moist and tasty. Also, they actually use real whipped cream. Many times I’ve asked at other bakeries to ice it with real whipped cream and it always has that bitter after taste. That’s how I know they aren’t using real cream. I’ve also bought their cannolis and the shell is always so crispy and never tastes greasy like some other places. I’m not sure why everyone is saying their stuff is stale. Maybe it is if you just walk in and buy something that was already made. But when you pre order cakes....
