I've been coming to La Villa for the past 15 years. Recently, there service as well as food has been quite disappointing. I asked if they could substitute the red sauce on the chicken parm entree for the vodka pink sauce. He immediately said no. He then said he would check with a manager which he came back to say I can have the vodka sauce if I pay for an entire entree that has the vodka sauce in it, then they would switch out the sauce. Had to choose another meal, the waiter did not come back for over ten minutes to see what we would like to order. After picking a special for over $20, I was disappointed to see the portion size as well as how bland it came out. After another 15 minutes, the waiter came back over to ask how it was. We said that it was terrible, he simply said "Oh, I am sorry about that." and walked away. We had to call the attention for another waitress to get some water and to request a manager. The manager never came over. Another 15 minutes passed and the original waiter comes over to see if we needed anything else except the check. We said we asked to speak to a manager and then finally the manager comes over and tries to comp dessert and coffee for us. Disgusted, we told them we will never come back and...
Read moreMy favorite Italian restaurant of all time!!! I have not been anywhere that has exceeded this place.... in my lifetime! My favorite dish is their pasta alla vodka. Again, anyone who knows me knows that I am an expert on pasta with vodka sauce. I have not had better ANYWHERE else. Their sauce cannot and has not been replicated. Other places do it well, but I think you catch my drift. Their pies are amazing as well. Over the years we have had all of them at some point: grandma, Sicilian, regular, veggie, salad, zucchini, they are all my favorite. Their rice balls, calamari, fried zucchini and mozzarella in carrozza are great apps to start with. Love love love their chicken Cesar salad. The grilled chicken is flavorful and perfectly cooked: never woody like many other grilled chicken salads on the boulevard. Their dressing is also delicious. Again, that’s another one of my go to’s. I love the Italian Mac and cheese. Again, it’s not something that I have had anywhere else. Their Chicken parm and Pollo balsamico is amazing, their calzones, I could just go on and on. Yes, they are pricy but I say, treat yourself if you can. Shout out to Luis and the staff. They are always pleasant and do whatever they can to make you feel...
Read moreThis is a difficult review to write since I’ve gone to this place often over the years. My last few visits have been disappointing, and I kept returning hoping for improvement, but that never came. Went for a weeknight dinner back in June. We were 1 of only 4 tables. It took an extensive amount of time until a waiter/waitress came for our order. Very long wait for our meal….it was not a busy night. Food was ok, but not as good as many previous visits. Returned a couple weeks after that. Some menu items not available, food came out before drinks….no one in my group impressed with meal. Was there a few weeks ago just for pizza….cash only as credit/debit machine not working. It was just pizza so I had the cash. Pizza bland. Went today for lunch. Walked in, was told to sit wherever we liked. A few minutes after sitting at a booth was told credit/debit machine not working (again). Unfortunately this time didn’t have much cash, so we had to leave. This once very good neighborhood spot needs to definitely step it up to get back to what it once was. It’s a convenient location, but I’m not against traveling...
