My first response is I was pleasantly surprised. I don't leave reviews often unless I feel it is deserving of my time. At first glance, I was not impressed with the "look" of the hotel and when I entered the lobby there was nothing fancy about it, however, the service and hospitality was very welcoming. We traveled in from CT and arrived hours before check-in but had no issues checking in immediately and that was very much appreciated. The room was very clean, there was a mini fridge and a microwave (which btw I have never seen a microwave at any other hotel I have stayed at. I thought that was great for someone who may want to warm up some leftovers. The area has everything you need. There is a market with a deli one block down that makes great food. The beds were clean and comfy also. I would stay here again. Nothing fancy but very clean, cozy and accommodating, everything you need is there, and that for me, that is most important! Thank you to the staff @ Travelodge||P.S. We realized our beds were made and garbage taken out and linens replaced with clean ones when we got back to the room, which was a very nice gesture but a little surprising, because we were not expecting that and our personal items were out in the open. Read moreIt's okay to stay for one night, there was an unusual odor, both on the halls and rooms. Checking-in and checkout were easy. There are enough storage areas, microwave and fridge in the room, which could be ideal for an inexpensive longer term stays. Big mirror wasn't secured well, it almost fell twice by a little unintended nudge. Don't expect too much from breakfast, some items were missing out, such as no drinks, except coffee. When I was breaking the muffin apart, it crumbled into pieces, as if it was dried out because sitting out too long. Their coffee machine was out of order, probably for a while, because when the employee started her shift, first thing she checked was the filters for the small coffee makers, such routine behavior takes...
Read moreTraveled to NYC for a long awaited visit due to covid travel restrictions. Travelodge had all the amenities I needed, was priced right, and location was perfect to where I was visiting. NOTE: this hotel is NO longer a homeless shelter as previous reviews have indicated. It was clean, neat, very friendly staff, and had free parking in back of the hotel and on the street in front of the hotel. It is one block away from the main road (Cross Bay Blvd), easy to get to everything, and walkable if don't want to drive. I can't say enough about the courtesy and professionalism extended to guests, and will definitely return to this hotel...
