Bugs in Food and Manager lady yells at us.
We’ve been loyal customers of La Villa for a while, but after our latest experience, we won’t be returning. My wife ordered for delivery a grandma pie, a large Caesar salad, and a small one. Total? $60. Unfortunately, upon opening the large salad, she found a bug right on top. She was disgusted and lost her appetite immediately.
I called the manager to inform her of the situation, hoping they’d take responsibility and issue a full refund. Instead, she insisted that bugs can occasionally "make it through" in lettuce and would only refund the salad. I explained that finding a bug in our food was not acceptable, especially for the price we paid, and requested a full refund since the experience was thoroughly ruined.
To my shock, the manager argued that there was “no reason” to refund the pizza because the sauce is acidic and a bug "wouldn't survive in it." She even went as far as to accuse me of trying to "scam" them out of the $60! When I asked to speak with the owner, Frank, she refused and claimed he would agree with her stance. Throughout the call, she was rude, confrontational, and dismissive of our concerns.
If you’re thinking of ordering from La Villa, beware. The management seems to have lost both quality control and respect for their customers. I expected at least an apology or an offer to make things right, but instead was met with hostility. It’s a shame to see a once-great spot lose its standards. I’d suggest supporting businesses that actually value...
Read moreMy husband and I were busy all day yesterday and truly wanted A moment to regroup and relax I told my husband let’s get some pizza and wine and he loved the idea. I knew I wanted to sit down and have quality pizza and wine. I didn’t want the food chains. I wanted a truly family sit down place. With quality food. I went on Google to look for a nice spot and I wasn’t having the best of luck finding, after swapping out a few words and just using keywords of Italian restaurants near me I landed here. The pictures alone and the wonderful reviews were all I needed to see. Experiencing the restaurant was even better. I loved how busy the restaurant was and how families were together having a good time. We had a very kind waiter. He was a Hispanic man very sweet. We ordered the fried mozzarella, some white wine and the Especiale pizza. Our first slices were placed on our plates by our fabulous waiter and the beauty in that slice of pizza was unbelievable. There was so many toppings. I told my husband I’m gonna need a fork and knife lol that first bite of the heavenly fennel, sausage and peppers and mushroom was truly mind blowing. This was the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m literally talking about this the next morning of having this pizza we asked for some ricotta on it and it was just divine. I can’t wait to come back. me and my husband felt so good after visiting. It was just what we needed after a busy day. Oh yess that onion bread was...
Read moreAight, I'm a very tolerant person and usually write a review only in case of something really good and exciting happened to me, or in case of the other.... things happened. You guess please why La Villa is being in my crosshair right now. Being visited that area, I quickly found out that they are the only pizzeria around. No Pop Jones, no Domino's. Fine, ordered over the phone, call them back after 50 minutes concerned about the fate of my order and as well as possibly the driver, got assured by the girl that "it's on it's way". Driver arrived 20 min later. Mind me saying, I was 3 min away from that place.
Fine, some people are saying they are not a fan of burned edges and soggy crust. I can eat it, I was hungry! They are busy, didn't you read? You cannot taste the dow, cheese? Fine, it is NYC baby, toughen up!
BUT $38.50 FOR AN 18" with standard toppings, olives mushroom pepperoni and 1L soda? Or $46 for the same pizza and 3 12oz bottles? Did the spirit of Mr. Lombardi personally kissed each and every pepperoni butt and carefully placed it in the hand assembled carton box, blessed by spirit of Mr. Grimaldi himself?
Well, you decide. Plain pizza is $19, not $14 as stated on the Google Maps. I personally think that any franshize pizza borg chain store, opened nearby, will destroy this Villa in 2-3...
