Been a few years since I wrote a review about Wilkens, it was a negative one about the inconsistency of its food and stopped going there. I recently decided to give it another try and I have been truly disappointed. I have absolutely no complaints about the counter worker because they are tremendous. My complaint, once again is about the inconsistencies of available items on the menus and preparation. When you go to this place, a normal person probably has their mind on ordering certain common items that are ALWAYS on the menu. I normally drive their in order to pick up something for dinner and usually arrive there between 5-5:45 pm which is normally dinner time. I went there twice and as going to order a sandwich and a salad only to be told “sorry no salads”. In one of those instances I was going to order a tuna salad sandwich and was disgusted when I looked at the display case to see the tuna a dark brown color. I was not at all appealing. I instead ordered a chicken salad sandwich and when I got home to eat it, it was disgusting. The chicken was dry, extrely large chunks and tasted half cooked. I tossed the sandwich in garbage. Tonite I called at 5:15 to order meatballs and spaghetti. I was told that it was not available tonight because the kitchen cook doesn’t work on weekends. Today is Friday. I hung up and called them back and ordered fried chicken fingers instead. They said no problem in which I asked “don’t you need someone in the kitchen to cook them?” She replied “You only have to fry them”. I was completely taken about by that reply. They had some on the kitchen that knew how to fry foods, but didn’t know how to boil a pot of water to make some spaghetti. The meatballs were already cooked and in the display case with the sauce. I ordered the chicken. I am now thoroughly disgusted and this WILL be my final order. After my last review two years ago, the owner replied that he was sorry and that it must have been a sort of small breakdown. Hmmmmm
29 May2024 Last night I returned to to Wilkins and asked for one of their pre-prepared garden salads. I asked the girl for oil and vinegar dressing on the side. When she put the dressing on the counter, I noticed that it was a deep red color, similar to what balsamic dressing appears. I politely said that it was vinegar and oil. I asked her if she was using red wine vinegar and she looked as if she was holding back a laugh when she said it was. I then told her that olive oil is basically a clear yellow color and that red wine vinegar is an extremely almost faded red color. The color of the dressing she gave me was deeply red with black residue floating in it. I had already paid for it, so I just look it home and put my own dressing on it. I took a small plastic spoon and tasted the store dressing and it was simply disgusting. I then opened the salad container and put the salad into a small salad bowl. I was disgusted when I noticed that most of the greens were actually brown. This salad was old. I dumped it into the garbage. This place is awful. The worker must have seen my previous review and decided to, instead of fixing the previous complaint, take her petty vengeance out on me. I don’t know who owns this deli, but I hope he is proud of the way its employees behave and the garbage products that he is dumping on its customers. All four member of my family used to go there and now Wilkins has lost all of our business. I suggest people think twice about ever...
Read moreI regret to share that my experiences at Wilkins Fine Foods have been consistently disappointing. The standards of service and quality, in my experience, are notably subpar, particularly given its position within the local food landscape.
A specific individual working the counter, whilst I do not wish to focus on her personal appearance, significantly lacks in the realm of customer service, and appears to exhibit limited interpersonal skills. This is, undeniably, a crucial aspect of any service industry, and the fact that this deficit is so pronounced is, frankly, disconcerting.
On numerous occasions, I've found my orders to be incorrect. This seems to reflect a general disinterest or lack of attention to detail among the staff, a further example of the unsatisfactory standard of service.
Additionally, Wilkins Fine Foods benefits from being one of the few options available in an area that can only be described as a culinary dead zone. It would seem that the underwhelming quality of their offerings may have been overlooked in light of this lack of competition, however, I find this to be no excuse for not meeting the expectations of the customers.
On my most recent visit, I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and melted mozzarella on crunchy bread. What I received, however, was a cold, half-hearted attempt at a sandwich. Upon returning the item and requesting a replacement more in line with my order, I was provided with a mere cup of gravy and a dismissive gesture from the woman at the counter. It was as if she was saying, "We're not remaking your sandwich, consider yourself lucky you have food at all."
This is not the level of service or quality that one would or should expect. My suggestion to potential patrons would be to thoroughly scrutinize your order before leaving the premises, or better yet, consider other dining options if they are available.
In conclusion, I strongly urge Wilkins Fine Foods to examine their current practices and make necessary improvements. Customers deserve respect, accuracy, and a dining experience worthy of their hard-earned money. Until such changes are made, I regretfully cannot recommend this...
Read moreWilkins Fine Food ... that’s a “LAUGH” more like “WILKINS RAW FOOD “... ordered lunch today with my co workers via Uber . My order was a Fried Fish SANDWICH , once I received my order as anyone would imagine I began to eat this “fried fish “ only to discover after a few bites that the fish was raw . I literally ate raw fish . I contacted Uber and the restaurant . When I called the restaurant and explained what happened I was hung up on 3 times . The first resolution discussed was sending over another sandwich when I informed them where I was located I was told that’s to far . Hence me using Uber and spending the fees . Then obviously annoyed young lady on the phone informed me that I’d receive a refund and hung up on me . Which I found odd .. how would I receive this refund ? So I called back and asked her to conclude the conversation properly . I asked who handles the returns ? How will I receive my refund ? I asked Her name and who would issue the return . She never gave me her name but she did say Jeff take care of that and it would take 2 or 3 days she wasn’t sure , nor did she care. She hung up the phone again . So not only is there food uncooked and disgusting so is the customer service . The funniest thing is I receive a 30% coupon via Uber for this place after I started making my dissatisfaction known . Why send that coupon I would NEVER waste my money and eat at this restaurant again . In fact I will inform anyone to stay far away from this place . There is no food quality control . If you get sick they can care less . STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE . The have no idea what fine food is . Seems like the main interest in this establishment is turning over a quick buck for sub par service and deadly food . TOTAL DISGRACE . You would think during these times where small businesses are fighting to stay open they would want to make a good product ... that is not the case here . STAY AWAY you’ve been WARNED ! F. Y.I Learn the proper way to make a Cesear salad . ... FINE FOOD LOL THATS THE JOKE . They have NO CLUE ! Throw the whole...
