Ill start by saying the only reason for 1 star is the person who "worked" on my pool is a nice guy otherwise id give 0 stars... I went through 2 pool companys to open and close my pool yearly. Both not only connect everything, treat the pool, but, also cleaned it. By the way, just found out today that Mill Bergens Idea of opening (for $231.00) is removing cover, connecting filter throwing in chemicals, NO CLEANING, Ill get to this later. One of the previous companys stopped servicing Brooklyn, unfortunately. The other, after my openning 2018 left with a leak in the connections which I did not notice cause it was under my deck, and when I called they said they will send someone in 2-3 weeks to fix it cause they are busy (pool opnening season, duh, it is your business) I call Mill Bergen at the end of the 2018 season to close my pool. I figure I knew them from when I grew up in Canarsie, a known name and from what I remembered good work, closing went...well, fine, now lets go to the 2019 openning. April 2019: Scheduled pool opening date was set ( can be changed due to weather, fine) called back to get a price on a specific product for my pool, they sent me a quote with labor. I explained to Alexa i can get the same product ( the actual color I wanted AND with an extra component) for $90.00 less expensive. I was told(with an attitude) its less than what they Mill Bergen can get it for, so, fine. Being they were going to be opening my pool I figure ill still pay the labor to put the product together (even a RIDICULOUS price of $250.00) just so I dont have to be bothered doing it. Her answer was well we only do the labor for the products we sell to someone. Ok cancel the labor, keep the scheduled pool opening. May came I forgot the date I had so I called to ask, wow, they didnt even have me scheduled, no worries they gave me a date a few days after what I thought my original date was anyway. Opening day Wednesday May 15th 2019: The guy comes to open my pool. Water is missing to below my return and skimmer line cause the plug they put in the return fell out and is laying on the bottom of my pool. Along with the plug is all the DIRT and LEAVES from the cover when he removed it. He said he can hook up filter, but, cannot run it cause not enough water in the pool. He left me with 2 pounds of shock and assured me after I fill the pool , run filter, dispense shock , vaccuum, all will be fine. I did what he said, filled, ran filter, shocked, connected vaccum ran over night (this is also what has always been done by the previous companies and everything was perfect next day) Thursday May 16th 2019: Leaves and dirt still in pool, water still a lil cloudy. I call, as the guy said, and I told Alexa exactly what happened. I explained the reason he couldnt properly fun filter cause water was to low, she started to point blame at me for low water, that I had to stop her and say its cause the plug they installed in my return, ehen closing didnt stay, I explained about rhe dirt and leaves they didnt clean it, day later its all still there, etc.. her answer to me was, now get this...remember first thing, $225.00 plus a $6.00 gas charge is $231.00 and her answer is... our pool opening is just remove cover, make sure filter/pool is operational, and put in chemicals....NO CLEANING, not even the stuff that their " employee" dropped in the pool when removing the cover, not even the plug that didnt hold they installed and, to top it off, how can they say filter is working properly if the employee couldnt let it run when he left (again due to the fact the plug they installed didnt stay in place and my water drained)? So for $231.00 plus tax ya have someone remove a cover, hook up two hoses and a return, drop 2 lbs (well leave me with) 2 lbs of shock and when you call you have to deal with an attitude of someone who thinks their company is the company all other pool companies strive to be like, as if their s**t dont stink and they are better than their customers. Do yourself a favor stay away from them, definitely NOT worth the price...
Read moreHorrible customer service. A number of years ago I contacted them to potentially install a new liner on my above ground pool. I contacted them multiple times and nobody ever got back to me after taking my info and saying they would contact me. I waited almost a month and had multiple phone calls with false promises. So, I ended up giving up and using a different company.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago….I had a problem where my filter motor died, so I purchased a new filter on Amazon. The fittings weren’t quite right, and it was a bit confusing….so I went to the store against my better judgement bc of my previous issue with them…but wanted to give them another chance bc they really are the only game in town, and bought a few pieces hoping it would help but didn’t.
So I went back and asked if I can make an appointment to have someone look at it and help me out. This was on a Monday….the girl took down my info on receipt paper (I already knew this wasn’t going to go well). She told me I would get a call Thursday or Friday. Well, no call came, so I went back that next Monday, and the same woman basically said they were busy with pool openings and it would be the coming Thursday/Friday as that’s when they are in the area. Well that was 3 weeks ago….did they contact you? Because they never contacted me.
I ended up buying PVC piping and elbows and figuring it out myself bc my pool was horribly green and I couldn’t wait anymore.
This store STINKS! I would never ever recommend them, nor would I go back to the for anything! Horrible...
Read moreThey started and finished my pool’s construction during the COVID pandemic. Attention to the detail, experience and professionalism were evident throughout. Even the order and level of the inlet and return pipes as they connect to the machines is the same. Everything was done right the first time. At the same time it is build like a tank with 12” minimum wall thickness, thick 1/2” rebar nets all around, 2” pipes, powerful jets and a gigantic filter. It is a Gunite pool with a spa in one corner. Plenty of accessories including a dedicated spa jet, a spa air blower, a pool cleaner with a booster pump, a levelor to fill the pool as needed and a heater and Ozone/UV sanitizer to reduce reliance on chlorine. And 3 multi color low voltage LEDs. This much power can get overwhelming or end up unused. But it turns out, anyone from my family can do anything they want using a few buttons on their phones. Spa spillover? There is a button for that! I have my house for 22 years, have had lots of contractors and I have done plenty of DIY projects myself so I know when I see a flaw. They all cut corners and usually a lot of corners. Even when I am on top of them. I am surprised to say that Bob did everything better than I could imagine. For example I asked Bob if there will be a button next to the spa to turn on the jets. He said yes. What I got instead is a panel with a temperature display, controls for thermostat, air blower, jet, LEDs etc. Talk about understatement. They are the real deal...
