HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE…. Try it out if you don’t believe me. The Ali guy, he’s such so unkind with a terrible customer service. Food was pathetic and cold. We paid $50/person for some cold, tasteless food. Fries was cold and burnt. Thankfully, I have a picture to attach with my review. On the phone call, they said show will start at 11:30 PM, which didn’t even start until 12:30 AM. Honestly to me the music show was boring as hell. The belly dance supposedly was supposed to start at 12 PM, and didn’t start until 1:30 AM and sorry to say, but “that wasn’t a belly dance at all.” I was legit gonna not pay any tip of how mad I was at food and customer service, however the restaurant charged us 18% tip and our bill came out to be $200 for 2 people for the pathetic food. I’m glad to say that they lost their customers and definitely I’m not recommending this place to anyone.

Expected better tbh.. it was fairly cold 🥶 even though we were sitting inside, I guess heating wasn’t on or something. They didn’t have blankets :( But overall hookah was good but not “the best”, and service as well.. I had to call the waitress or the waiter (every time is different person lol ) anyway.. literally waiving my hand and signaling, or standing up and coming up to them myself.. I’d say self service? Wasn’t very pleasant.. we were told we had to pay $50 pp for belly dance and live music that was supposed to start at 9 pm but then up until 11 pm nothing really happened.. it was good that I offered to pay later in case we decide to stay.. so note that as well lol It is a nice place though.. but a lot to work on :)

The decor and food is everything to go there. I was surprised to receive a brand new pipe for our hookah. The music was just from youtube and it's hard to get the waiter's attention. However, he was nice. I plan to go back on a Saturday night since he said belly dancers are there.

Layali Dubai desperately needs a new Maitre D!

I never have left a negative review in my life but the Maitre D, at Layali Dubai has left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel regretfully left with no other choice. Don’t get me wrong; the food was good, though when paired with the obdurately unaccommodating behavior of the Maitre D, the latter ostensibly subsumed any pleasantness that there could have been had in the overall experience! I called well in advance and made reservations for myself, my husband, my sister and a few friends and family from out of town. I was excited for my friends to see the live belly dancers, which they had never seen before. When I made reservations I distinctively asked for a table by where the dancers were to be, which they fully assured me of. When I arrived the Miatre D ushered us to the back of the restaurant where we would have little view of the dancers. At this point the restaurant was relatively empty; we had come early because I know that it gets busier as the night goes on. When I requested a closer table he told me that they were all spoken for. I then proceeded to tell him about the particulars of my reservation and he all but ignored me. I was tacitly informed by his annoyed bravado that I was to take it or leave it. Not wanting to make an issue of it and ruin the evening for my friends, I acquiesced and decided to make the best of it. Every interaction with this man was a passive aggressive experience. His countenance was unappealing and unapproachable at all times. My husband was to meet us there after work. When my husband arrived the show had already begun so when he tried to contact me I could not hear the phone ring. My husband approached the Maitre D and asked if he could go and to insure that his company was indeed inside but the maître D refused him from entering without paying the cover. My husband assured the Maitre D the he would undoubtedly pay the cover once he could confirm that we were in attendance but the Maitre D not only refused him he treated him ill temperedly right from the start. My husband ended up leaving without joining us. He was very displeased with the way he was treated. He could understand the Maitre D’s logic to a point but not his tactless lack of manners. I would definitely not return my business to Layali Dubai. There is such a vast array of competing establishments in Astoria where the service is on par with the food or vice versa. Layali Dubai is beautifully decorated and the food is adequate but none of that matters when the management treats you third rate! I was embarrassed and ashamed and I will not risk another ruined evening with...

This place, big time scammers, I was at this place eight years ago and now back earlier this year and they still do the same Misleading tactics, They literally FRAUD their customers. Was there with few friends, we were first told it will cost $250 for new year eve per person then when we were about to leave they said they’ll bring it down to $200, then they said $175 if we pay cash (not sure if the workers are stealing from the owners as well or they’re just trying to avoid taxes) the guy at the door who seemed like the supervisor said EVERYTHING will be included we SPECIFICALLY asked if the hookah will be included, he said yes EVERYTHING, hookah, full coarse meal, drinks etc. so we paid upfront to enter, at the end of the night, they brought us a bill for hookah, drinks, desserts, we explained what we were told and the waitress called another guy who was at the door and they pretended they didn’t know what we were talking about, the guy who we paid and told us everything is included was nowhere to be found. They said he left for the night and they’re sure he would not have said everything is included. They literally did this same thing eight years ago when I was in town and went in for a live singer with my friends. We thought we might’ve misunderstood, then a groups of guys who came a bit after us and were sitting next to us were also given a bill and they said they were also told everything is included by the the same guy who was at the door when we entered/paid that’s now nowhere to be found. The workers claimed: only a main coarse dish was included (was totally plain food not even worth it) and that’s it, along with the live singer for $200 and we should be thankful since they gave us a discounted price. Not to mention the singer who they had, literally didn’t have songs memorized and would sing couple or few lines of a song and switch to another song. TERRIBLE experience WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place and WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. Many better middle eastern places in town and around New...

I Find it very hard to believe that anyone would leave positive reviews on this place. I went there with over 15 people for a birthday party. Let me start off by saying that I haven’t been to one club that played their music as loud as this place does. The waitress couldn’t hear a word I said while standing next to me. You can’t call them over either as they won’t hear you. On top of paying a ridiculous amount for food, they hide the fact that the people not eating will have to pay $20 for the music. The appetizers come with little bread and good luck trying to get some bread to finish your food. When the meals finally come out you realize you payed $50 for a plate filled of mostly white rice and a couple small pieces of meat. The food I would give a 4 out of 10. We never received any drinks until I had to finally ask. The hookah had to be one of the worst I’ve had. The head tasted completely burnt from the second we got it. The coal will turn into ash before you get any new ones. At the end they tried to charge us for extra Coronas which I predicted would happen. Since you need to ask multiple times for something. They would charge you everytime you asked for a drink even though they hadn’t brought it out. They then tried to charge for an extra 4 plates ($200 total). When proving them wrong they still gave an attitude as if they were doing us a favor by not charging us for it. This is my first receive I have ever left. Never again would I come or recommend this place to anyone. First and last time. I hope they put the $2k spent as they’ll never see another dime. The food in the pictures posted btw are far from what you will receive. I hope this helps Anyone looking to make a decision on going there with a group. Don’t ruin your night by...
