Hoyt Playground — Attraction in New York

It's an okay park used to be alot better before the renovations. Yes there is new benches, ground surface, and cobblestone. There is a playground for Children with a swing set and a sprinkler which I belive they are stil working on. They have handball and basketball courts. The only downside is the new surfacing they put down. For years people were able to play roller hockey in the middle of the park but now with the new surface that's over with. Thanks parks department for killing a tradition of people in Astoria playing hockey in that park...

Normally, this area is very fun for the kids, with ample space to play, sit, and fun sprinklers, too. Also known had the dragon park for many kiddos. However, someone(s) placed many of the brick flooring into the water play area, making it very unsafe for young children to play and run safely.

I moved the 20-plus bricks to the side to try to keep the water area safe!

I highly recommend to always scan the area before allowing kids to play

Currently under renovation and construction, so only one handball court and the older aged play area (slides, jungle gym, etc.) are open. Usually, it's a decent playground with open space, a sea serpent water sprinkler, basketball courts, two play areas and a set of swings.

Big downside is it's next to the subway and a LOT of random people cut through to get to and from the subway. Not a particularly clean playground and sometimes vagrants hang out on the benches, but kids tend to like...
