DO NOT go here if you have a food allergy! My infant daughter had a cows milk protein allergy which means I cannot eat any dairy otherwise she develops diarrhea, severe abdominal pain ,and acid reflux for up to 2 weeks. While french cuisine is not the wisest choice on my part, it was father’s day and as my husband and father-inlaw love French food, we chose this brunch spot. I was upfront with the waitress who was unfamiliar with any non dairy option, so she correctly consulted the kitchen when I asked if the burger could be served dairy free (most French dishes contain butter or cream so I could obviously avoid those while my family indulged!). Because burger buns are often brioche, I asked if this were the case to substitute with any other bread; she came back and said that they had no other alternative but could serve it without bread. I explained that generally baguette, pita, sourdough are dairy free- and as they report making their fresh baguette in house I thought this was weird. She went back to the kitchen. The manager came out and said she called the bread maker and that the bread made there was dairy free, but I would be charged to switch. Fine. The waitress asked if I wanted ketchup with my fries, I said yes. I explained again that no ingredient could contain any dairy product- nor could any ingredient be cooked in butter. When the burger arrived, it had caramelized onions on it and instead of ketchup, there was a saucer filled with a white sauce that I thought could be Mayo. I was about to dig in as I trusted they took the allergy seriously, but I asked the server to double check that it contained no dairy to be sure given the severity of the allergy. The server never came back so I asked the manager to find out what it was: a bechamel sauce (ie contains dairy). No apology for having sent it out, no offer to bring me ketchup. So I ask again for ketchup. also the bread was puffed up pita… not baguette I had asked for but I didn’t complain as all I cared about was not eating dairy at this point. As I’m eating the burger, I’m drinking the oat milk latte I ordered but it’s tasting too good to be true. I’m worried it’s cows milk so I ask the waitress again to confirm. She says that’s what she asked for, by then I had drunk half the cup. I decided to stop. Then I started to wonder if the caramelized onions had been cooked in butter… the next day, my wife daughter had severe reflux and she’s had a week of constant mucus diarrhea (10 episodes a day) and is in agony. I’m livid. There was no other possible dairy exposure I had before or after this incident as I cook all my own food given the severity. I thought it’s standard practice in the food industry in nyc to take food allergies seriously. Very...

Atmosphere:** Quiet enough to carry conversation, yet lively enough to remind you you’re in the heart of the city. The clink of crystal and the gentle hum of guests create an authentic French bistro vibe.
Service Wait staff:** The standout feature. Attentive without being overbearing, genuinely hospitable, and impeccably knowledgeable about the menu. Our server anticipated needs before we even realized them—refilling water glasses right as they approached and offering thoughtful wine pairings. Timing:** Courses arrived with pristine pacing, allowing us to savor each dish without feeling rushed. The team checked in at just the right moments—present when needed, invisible when not.

Wine list:** Thoughtfully curated, with a strong French section and a few well-chosen imports from nearby regions. The sommelier’s recommendations perfectly complemented each course.
Highlights The attention to detail extended to the table settings and bread service. A warm, crusty baguette with a lightly salted butter set the tone for the meal. The staff’s enthusiasm for the restaurant’s story—its origin, its inspirations—added a personal touch that felt rare and special.
Value While the dining experience leans upscale, the quality, craftsmanship, and service justify the price. It’s a memorable night out that feels both luxurious and accessible with the right...
Read moreI hate to leave a bad review, but I feel compelled to warn others. I made a dinner reservation two weeks in advance for a birthday celebration. When we arrived on time, we were given a table near the door. I asked if we could switch, but the restaurant was busy since it was a Saturday night.
Please understand my frustration. I made the reservation two weeks earlier and traveled from Long Island to celebrate my niece’s birthday near her campus on the Upper West Side. It was a cold night, and sitting near the door meant we had to keep our coats on throughout the meal.
The service was very disappointing. I’ve dined at this restaurant before and enjoyed the food, but I’m furious that a dinner for three, which cost me $200, plus a $35 parking in the area, was so poorly handled—even though I had reserved the table well in advance.

To update my review-
This restaurant manager emailed me and accused me being angry because I didn’t get a table FAR away from the door. It’s easy to blame the customers. But as a repeated customer who know the restaurant well, I was placed in the ONlY table that is at the door where any customer would refuse to sit, too cold in the winter because it’s near the door and also too cold in the summer because it’s right below their AC vent. Accusing me charging only $150 in his email and suddenly realized I do check my bill. This says so much about the management skills. Nothing to do with a too busy weekend. Just incompetence. That table should never be saved for a...
