THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I' VE EVER HAD IN NEW YORK. FIRST,we are in line to wait for a table. A couple left and a 50 year old like woman waitress asked us to sit. But then, we were told by another young waitress to leave the table cuz the table should be for another couple. Ok we gave the seats to them. But I heard that old waitress said we lied to her that we were the next customer for seats. I was angry. Then we got the seats after we were called. Unfortunately we got the seats but we sat right next to that couple. That man kept noticing us and murmuring to the woman. They kept verbally abusing us with all bad words. I felt uncomfortable. I could hear that old lady waitress said sth bad about us to the young waitress. After they left, we ready to check out. The young waitress had ignored us like two times amd even she put her back facing to us and just pretended not to hear anything. I was like#%^+-/^+=[{{%^}*{+!!!! Finally that waitress came over with fake smile after I said I would not go there anymore. I gave them tips and they kept saying thank you and I just ignored them.
My announcement: I definitely won't step in there any more in my life!!! The service is THE WORST and MEAN, that old lady waitress kept making people around misunderstood us and jut did not admit her fault. This person is not Honest and just pushed responsibility on other innocent customers which made us felt bad and sad!!! So frustrated as being same as Chinese, they behaved in this such a way!!! We order some food and they just tasted not as good as we expected. Just normal food which you can definitely get something better somewhere else!!! WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A GOOD MOOD YO EAT!!! IT WILL RUIN YOUR DAY!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDING "LIKE CAFE" with the worst service I've ever received...
Read moreThe breakfast menu here is just like many HK-style cafes in the area (New Forest, Simplylife). A, B, C, D, E choices for you to choose from. The only complain that I have is the french toast being tooooooooo small; I call it 9x9 (it's literally smaller than my face, which is a problem.) Likewise, the lunch and dinner hasn't disappointed so far. I've tried their Thai green curry chicken rice, and it's not entirely bad. The chicken is a bit dry, but I don't expect much out of chickens anymore; and there's not enough sauce for my rice, so I would say if there's more sauce, then it'll make the rice much more flavorful.
For the breakfast menu, I would highly suggest (if you eat beef), the satay beef with instant noodles. Yeah, you can cook instant noodles at home, but the satay beef sauce with the instant noodle is great and quite filling. For drinks, I would suggest trying the Thai iced tea and the HK style iced/hot milk tea. The iced tea is also great, but the lemons can be hard to pulp down in a tall glass.
The wait for sitting on most days is horrendous (especially weekends). The cafe looks short-staffed sometimes to the point where I see one person doing 3-4 jobs at once, and they're unable to seat people even if there are seats in the back. Now, they may be holding it or cleaning it for the next party, I don't know how their system works. Either way, I would say that this is a good breakfast/lunch/dinner spot, and I would suggest people coming in to...
Read moreThe employee sat my family down by the door. There was no heat in the restaurant on one of the coldest days. Everyone had to wear a jacket while eating. After having about 3 bites of our food, we decided to get the check so we can just eat at home. The food was also very disappointing and we have been dined here many times before. The quality of food has gone down over the year.
We paid for the food and as we were about to leave, the waitress demanded at least 18% of tips as we only gave them 15%. There were no signs, labels or anything in the restaurant or menu saying it was a requirement to pay at least 18% for tips.
Tips are optional and freely given by customers. A recommended or suggested tip is not the same as an auto gratuity. With suggested tips, the percentage is merely a guideline, not a requirement. The customer may choose what tip amount they want to give their server, if any. Restaurants should clearly label suggested tips and automatic gratuities on the bill. Please keep that mind before your employees try to do that with other customers. With that being said, your restaurant wont be receiving anymore...
