Worst service ever. We stopped coming here 2 years ago because of the poor service after being regulars here for many years. Today we were here for 2 hours, watched tables of people come and go and we still didn’t get anything but 2 appetizer plates. No soup, no main course, no dinner. We have. Even here for over 2 hours and they say they are busy? Yes busy taking everyone else’s order and not preparing ours which was put in at 720 pm! It’s now 9:11 and I just left. We stopped coming here because of bad service 2 years ago and have been frequenting another Resturant down the block. No wonder why they are empty on a busy weekend. The picture is the two empty places that we had 40 minutes ago. The party smaller than ours (we are 20 people) is having dessert and we are only getting the first dish now. They came in after us, along with the other people that already ate and left.

We recently visited the New Northern Manor for dinner. They offer a small parking lot in the rear and self-pay street parking. The restaurant can accommodate both small and large parties and is kid-friendly. However, as with many authentic Chinese restaurants, the dinning area can be quite loud. They have a live fish tank with healthy-looking fish. During our visit, king crab was priced at about $50 per pound. It was expertly prepared by steaming with garlic and ginger. The second cooking option for the King Crab was with steamed egg. Other dishes met normal standards, though they added extra beef to the Western Lake beef soup, which was different but still good. Overall, the prices were fair for the quality of food. Be aware that the wait time for a table on weekends is very long. Also they serve Dim Sum during lunch.

On the popular restaurant strip along Northern Blvd. Dim sum lunch portion sizes on the small or petite end, prices are average with your basic Cantonese choices, nothing really stood out as excellent. Cha Siu buns doesn't have much fillings although the dough itself is fine. Tai Pong Chow Mei Fan noodles was pretty good and sizable in serving for 4. Wasn't busy as expected on a weekday but probably will try their lunch specials next time, maybe on a takeout basis. This is an alternative to driving to Flushing Chinatown but there are better choices around here for dim sum. Deco is old style family restaurant and wait staff are fair. Price fixed set dinner or bundled meal prices for 4, 6, 8 and 10 seemed reasonable.

I started going to Northern Manor when they first opened many years ago. It became my family's go to spot for dine in and take out dinners during the week and dim sum on the weekends. As with most restaurants the quality of the food was excellent early on but then started becoming mediocre for the past couple of years. We stopped going for all together about 2 years ago as we moved out of the Great Neck area.

Upon hearing that the restaurant was under new management we decided to give it another shot recently when we were in the area. We ordered takeout dinner and were pleasantly surprised that the vegetables were tasty and quite fresh and the pork chops were tender and cooked to perfection.

Based on our recent takeout experience I wanted to give back to local business and decided to take my family back yesterday, Sunday morning for dim sum. After waiting about 10 minutes we were taken to our table. My kids noticed right away that there were only 2 dim sum carts being rolled around the room. It took a very long while before one of the dim sum matron even approached out table which was in an open un-obstructed area. Once at our table she offered us a mish mosh of some very sad looking dim sum that had been wheeled around one too many times. Because everyone was hungry, we spoke to one of the waters who remembered us and started placing our order with him. Within a few minutes our dim sum arrived one by one. Everything was lukewarm and kind of bland. I guess it will be a while longer before we...

Food and atmosphere may be good, but prepare your appetite will be gone to wait 1.5 hours for your food after seated and ordered. Meanwhile flagging down 3 servers thru out will continue serve you no food but false sense of your dishes are on the way. The managers might be nice, but they are custom to cater frequenters and big tables. Flagging them down is no easy task, your flagging will not be noticed easily.

The servers are hard working and nice, but after 3 different servers followed up the orders and assured food are coming, and still no show, you know they are either don't have the authority or influence to get your orders cooked or served, or their claims of following up are not accountable. It will take your calm nerves and continuous effort to flag down a manager, and the manager to follow up your orders to get the food cookef and served, and of course not all your dishes are cooked. Some order will have to cancel because it was too late and they are not available, or basically haven't be started after ordered 1.5 hours. While your fellow big tables are finishing all their food, packed and went home.

To sum up, not favorable to folks new to the restaurant, you are not connected to the managers not a big party can't wait for hour after seated and ordered can't diligently flag down a manager to follow up your orders believe servers follow up will work with young child or children (except you want to train their patient and...

Had stayed away for a long time because it was often closed or a poor grade posted on the front of the restaurant kept me away. It look like it was recently renovated but poorly repainted. Decided to give it one last try visiting a friend on their birthday and decided on Chinese food on a Saturday evening. Sadly, we were very disappointed afterward especially on the lack of services. We were seated very quickly with several empty tables available. Then everything else was extremely slow. It took over 15 minutes to get someone to take our order. We ordered 8 different variety of dishes; beef noodles, fried crispy chicken, stir fry seafood, fried steak and so forth. Majority of each single dish took over 15 to 20 minutes to be served by our rude waitress. The last two dishes; noodle and fried rice was somehow forgotten and only after question it, took over 20 plus minutes each before it was served. The food was disorderly served and just warm because it took a while before we received them. The strange thing about the Double Lobster special dish was small in portion and presented with a set of lobster claws ( 2 claws instead of 4 ). When you have a large group and everyone is waiting a very longtime for food, it not an enjoyable meal. There were several other server, but they pretended not to look at our table because they were not assigned to our table. Will be going elsewhere for...
