Make Believe Bakeshop — Restaurant in New York

If you're an Astoria resident, you know there's a ton of coffee places but Make Believe is far and away my favorite. First off, it is adorably decorated, welcoming, and in a great location. Second, Tom and Nicole are the nicest, friendliest people ever who will chat with you about anything ON TOP OF making fantastic coffee and some of the tastiest baked goods I've ever had. Obviously the Blueberry Crumble is a big hit, but the breakfast sandwiches are great and the chocolate chip cookie is without equal. Once, Nicole made these amazing pumpkin and chocolate chip muffins, and they rocked my world. Ask them for coffee and tea recs, it's how I found my new fave flavor combo: white mocha and rose.

Honestly, I would gatekeep this place if I didn't want it to succeed for many, many years so I can keep going. It is too magnificent to go unexperienced, go get yourself a treat and experience the whimsy and the wonder...

The REALIST, MAKE BELIEVE Coffee spot in Astoria, Queens! A MUST VISIT type of place! AMAZING PEOPLE, TOP NOTCH COFFEE, UNIQUE, DELICIOUS BAKED TREATS & A MAGICAL ENVIRONMENT! Highly recommend trying an Iced Pistachio Latte made by Tom & a Vegan, Gluten Free, Strawberry Apple Oat Crisp Crumble Bar made by Nicole. There are so many flavors offered for your coffee, Salted Caramel, Lavender, Rose, Chocolate, Vanilla and so many more plus so may tea options as well! Also, a great selection of GOOD EATS ranging from Chocolate Zucchini Bread, to Gluten Free Pistachio Rose Cardamom Cake, to a variety of cookies, scones, breads, focaccia and more! There are even homemade pumpkin peanut butter dog treats made by Nicole waiting for your furry friend who is also very welcome to MAKE BELIEVE! What a wonderful warm welcoming place! The moment I entered, the baker in the back who was very busy took the time to say hello and make eye contact while her colleague rushed over to help. Amazing service. The guy is very friendly and informative and really knows his stuff. I enjoyed learning about their awesome pastries baked on site! The carrot cake zucchini loaf is incredible and easily the best loaf I have had in memory. The lemon bar also looked fantastic, also baked here which I shall return for in the near future. The tea combinations are what blew my mind. They carry a unique tea brand from an iconic midtown spice shop and they combine the teas in a thoughtful manner. I have visited hundreds of coffeeshops in NYC and have never encountered this before Make Believe. Very cool spot, with very cool people and equally awesome...
