Good food, friendly staff, and decent prices than what you would get in other boroughs. Apologies for the photo composition, since I didn't want to be overtly taking photos and I had already eaten a bit. I have ordered takeout from this place before and it was always a good way to scratch the itch for tacos when I have it. They have some super authentic dishes and an ethnic market section where you can get stuff like chicharrónes, candy from Mexico, and Michoacan ice cream. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to the Great Kills station. They also deliver, though I've never used it. The restaurant interior is relatively tight quarters, with a lit bar and Aztec inspired art on the walls. There is also an outdoor seating area under the awning, as well as in front of the store and ice cream shop entrance. Latin American ballads can be heard in the dining area, while more pop-music can be heard playing in the kitchen if you sit closer to the door. It has a slightly busy feel, but you can get comfortable and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They are attentive and quick to remedy if they forget napkins or any utensils. I usually get tacos from this place and I highly recommend their chorizo option, which is slightly spicy. On weekdays, they have lunch specials, which include three tacos for 9 bucks. This special may change on certain days, so be sure to ask when ordering. Each taco comes with two soft shells, meat, cilantro, onions, both salsa rojo and verde, and lime. On the weekends, they do also have specials and I found this out upon dining in. On the day I went, the specials were pozole, barbacoa tacos, and birria. I ordered for two and we had La Mexicana bistec, mole con pollo, tacos birria, and one taco barbacoa. You get free tortilla chips and some sort of pico de gallo salsa to go with them. The salsa is slightly watery, so you can use the spoon to drain them and load more on the tomatoes and jalapeños. The platos portions are quite big and a bargain at their price at this time, I would say, each coming with rice and beans. You also get some free tortillas and salsa with that order so you can build your own tacos as an alternative to eating with just knife and fork. Wait time for the food is decent and you can just enjoy your chips and chat while you wait. The mole con pollo had a robust and earthy flavor, by far my favorite salsa I had from this restaurant. The chicken was tender enough that I didn't have to fight to pull the meat off with just my fork. Tacos birria were nice and full of meat, and the broth served for dipping with it was spicy. The mexicana bistec was thin and a little overdone, but I just put mole on it and that went well with the tomato sauce so that we could finish the whole thing. The barbacoa taco was nice and smoky, with plenty of meat as well. But I give my hat off to the mole at the...
Read moreGreat service, food and restaurant it's self, makes the best Mexican food and breakfast. The dining area as well as the bar area is so amazing specially during the night it is a beautiful place to order at and it's design is just a design that will make you want to go there more often. The food like I said is delicious,I can't say what I have order because I've ordered a lot but I have order tacos of course but there food is good tasty and good looking best quality. They also have fresh fruit and goodies such as snacks that are tasty too but it's all almost Mexican stuff that they sell there. There restaurant is all together one building but there is a separation that decides the deli and dinner. After everything this is a very good place that...
Read moreTonight we went to Mercado Ariana Restuarant in Great Kills, Staten Island. It was not our first choice, we tried to go somewhere else but couldn't get into this other place as we did not have a reservation. We met a friend on the way out, and she recommended that we try Mercaedo Ariana. We are so glad we went. Everything is made fresh, the guacamole the chips and all the food. Everything was so delicious! It will be the ONLY place we go to now for Authentic Mexican food. The prices are more than reasonable, and the portions were huge. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating, answering any questions that we had. If you want really good Mexican food, do yourself a favor and go to Mercado Ariana Restuarant, you...
