Monkey Tiger — Restaurant in New York

Okay it’s been almost 24 hours and I’m still thinking about this so I need to write a review just to make people aware - the cafe is cute and everyone was nice but I was absolutely shocked at how uncomfortable the seating was. The tables were mostly extremely low and there were a few that were extremely high. Like, comically high. I can’t stop thinking about it.

This could be a non-issue if you’re just sitting while on your phone or chatting with a friend, but if you’re trying to eat anything off of a plate/bowl or honestly even use a laptop for any extended amount of time, just know that you will be either hunched over or eating at a trough. I’m a freak and I actually loveee really high tables so once I switched from the low seat to the high seat, I was having the time of my life (it’s hard to find to find this chair-table height pairing on purpose!) but if I had to sit at one of the lower ones I think I would have literally asked for a to-go box and eaten outside on the sidewalk. For context, I’m 5’4.

Anyways! Not a Bad experience overall for me specifically, but this is what I wish I would have been warned about just so I could anticipate this...

So glad I found this spot! I was looking for a place to do some work, and this is one of the only places I know that is open and okay with laptops at night. They have a beautiful interior, a lot of seating, outlets, WiFi, and plenty of options for food and drink. They have coffee and pastries, but also a restaurant and full bar! Everyone who works here is incredibly sweet and attentive. The coffee drinks are delicious, and the food from both the Korean restaurant downstairs and the cafe is delicious.
