Go here if you want to wind up in the Urgent Care afterwards. Last week I got a "latte" that was literally boiling. I have had sunburn and windburn on my lips, and let me tell you , getting your face burned because your latte is hot enough to poach an egg is way worse. I live a couple Blocks away on Bedford and used to come here frequentlly for the nice environment: seating area etc. I always overlooked the fact that the Baristas were awful and just don't know how to make coffee , or maybe they don't care ? but getting injured was sort of the last straw.

Edited to add: I did not read the other reviews before writing mine. After reading the owner's response to a similar complaint (terrible barista attitude) I am even more appalled. To the owner who can't seem to take accountability for anything, including but not limited to the rude young man on your staff. Wakeup call : Your statements indicate delusion. You claim " we're known for having great customer service and a strong community connection" . Oh yeah ? I am your community, I live practically on top of the store and so does the other person who got burned, and I am telling you , that your staff always seems like they do not care, are sloppy about their drink making, and typically more rude than they are welcoming. Your employees are, in fact the reason why people do not return. Suffice to say if you are losing neighbors/ regular patrons because of your baristas, you are in actuality, known for terrible customer service not "great customer service" .

You do, in fact, have a serious problem on your hands if 1) your staff is so freaking grumpy and dismissive you are getting multiple reviews about them and 2) your staff is causing injury to your patrons. For you to assume the person writing the review had "anger in their heart" and was not being factual : That right there is the sort of overt narcissism and negligence that put one of your patrons in a doctor's office. You were aware, did nothing/ dismissed it as "anger in the heart" (that is just hysterical) and two weeks later, one of your patrons is injured. Let me guess. My actual burns were from "anger in my heart"? Hope you have a...

I had to change my good review to bad because a couple weeks ago , a friend and I came for coffee and we both got severely burned . This is after months of bad drinks and ongoing rudeness . Right away I noticed the drinks seemed super hot .We left and walked back to my place . At least 10 mins later , When we took the lids off , steam billowed out like a boiling pasta pot . We joked that if we needed a facial we had all the steam we needed .

We waited a little while longer , now at least 15-20 the coffee has had to cool , yet when she finally took a sip she immediately burned her lips and throat . I came over , put my finger in her cup and it badly scalded the part that touched it for a split second. My finger was stinging for rest of the day as if I had touched my curling iron not a latte !!! . Her lips were burned enough that they swelled up like she had terrible lip injections and took a couple days to heal . The medical bills were not super high , but being in pain for days with cartoon lips is unacceptable outcome. . This is par for the course for this place . Every time I go in there , the baristas are embroiled in a conversation about something and you are an afterthought . One time I made the mistake of complaining and I was met with arrogance , defensiveness and disdain. I stopped coming here for a while after that incident , and all I did was ask to remake the latte . The milk that time was so hot I thought it was skim , and asked “you sure this is whole milk?” That alone was enough to set this guy off. I did not appreciate the attitude I received for something so simple . Not that the owner cares , but the only nice person in this place is the young lady with brown hair . The male baristas are awful, the one with light hair is the rudest of all and his drinks are worse...

I love studying here every chance I get. The entire barista staff is extremely friendly, and more often than not, you will find the owner, who is quite passionate about the kolaches that are made fresh each and every day, stopping by to check in on all of the scrumptious goodies.

Also, there have been some fantastic changes that have taken place at BKC over the course of the past few months. Amazing renovations have been made to the back room to make it a friendlier environment conducive to getting work done or meeting other BKC regulars.

I just wish it could be amazing weather year 'round because there is nothing better than having one of BKC's specialty kolaches: the love dip, the hometown bbq, the chorizo/egg/cheese, the pumpkin and sweet cheese, etc - in the back garden.

I simply cannot get enough of this place! I highly recommend Brooklyn Kolache Co. for anyone who is looking for amazing coffee and/or delicious delights who happens to live in the area, is within walking distance of the area, is within a short subway or bus ride from the area, or if you just happen to be visiting Brooklyn...

Make sure you take note of the Specials Menu before you walk in, it’s posted on the left wall of that semi outdoor foyer. It’s very easy to miss, somehow there isn’t another menu inside where you place your order. Had I seen it, would have gotten their seasonal ube latte instead of their matcha which was just average. Wow, mushroom goat cheese kolache hit the spot even after brunch nearby, we still made room! Tasted fresh and the bread reminds me of the butter rolls from Tai Pan bakery. Few other vegetarian and gluten free friendly options on their menu as well. Did not expect to enjoy the kolache as much as we did. Can’t believe it took this long to check this place out. Cute merch ie totes on sale.

A coworker said I should go here. I got the old man experience which a went to a boutique Czech/Slovak pastry place across from a vegan restaurant down the street from a cereal restaurant (8-bit 🙄) in an area that, when I was a strapping yet too pale 22 year old living on Myrtle Ave in 1991 I wouldn't have gone through this neighborhood in the middle of the day without a great deal of trepidation. Anythehoo my friend was right, this place is great. I got two savory (pimento cheese and spinach and feta) and the mighty Ant got two sweet (cherry and pecan -- the counter staff were split on which was was better so we got both). Outdtanding, both Kolach and staff. FANTASTIC time in the bathroom

I'll be blunt, I don't like these kolaches. It's purely down to personal preference though and no fault of the shop. Obviously, many people like them. I grew up with Czech-American kolaches in southeast and central Texas and these are not them. The split smoked sausage melts too much fat into the dough on the sausage and sausage/cheese ones which makes them greasy. I prefer the 'little smoky' styled sausage that I grew up with, I think it makes a better kolache. The fruit ones are more tasty but they're overly large so the fruit/dough ratio is less than ideal. On the plus side, they're a good value for the price. They'll definitely fill you up. Service was kinda slow but was friendly enough.
