Hear me out...I absolutely love Mottley Kitchen and have been going there for sometime and have always been satisficed with both the food and costumer service. With that being said the past couple of visits has not been a great experience, especially the visit I had today. The young girl at the register seemed confused about how to put in our order for the Ranchero sandwich with steak added, after we fumbled through completing our order which included 2 breakfast sandwich, a blueberry corn muffin, and 2 Lattes the wait began. We got our drinks 10 mins after ordering, and because its a open kitchen we seen that our hot food was sitting on the back table waiting to be picked up by the workers, because it was a little busy I went to the counter and asked for them to pass me the sandwiches so we can eat it while still hot the young girl making the drinks said "you are going to have to wait" and continued making drinks, the young girl at the register made a ice coffee for another customer, walked to the table where my food was sitting, picked up another costumers food that was packed and ready to go (this customer came in about 10 mins after we had order) I once again asked for my food to be passed to me and was told by the young girl "wait". Wait? my food was sitting on the table for close to 10 mins at this time, the other costumers where standing there looking at me with the "dang that's messed up face" I asked for my money back for the sandwiches and left. Its ashamed when a place with great food but subpar services (of lately) makes you not want to continue to spend money there. I will take a break from here and then try again to see if things are back...

First and formost, the location is beautifully designed with wide rustic wooden tables providing open seating. This is balanced by a the slate grey concrete floors. The open kitchen behind the counter allows you to see the staff hard at work on all of the delicious pastries and bake goods that are made on the premises. You wonnt find that in many well established restaurants even in midtown Manhattan or the fancy parts of Brooklyn.
For my first visit I had a French Crueller with a lemon and blueberry glaze. It was so fresh, light, and airy I thought I was going to float away. And the zest of the berry and lemon was beyond amazing. I also ordered an egg sandwich that was as good, if not better than what I can make at home, and if your wondering, Ive veen told I make the best egg sandwich anyone has ever devoured (courtesy of a talented chef and personal friend). I finished off my meal with a tumeric latte that was both perfect and beautifully prepared. I was so into the meal I forgot to take pictures.
My only complaint is that there isnt one in Harlem near my building but that makes it another reason to hop on over to the Bronx. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is FABULOUS. I came here with My friend who is pregnant to enjoy a brunch with Her, and I got the Chicken Tajine, it was Phenomal⦠wow. Well priced, beautifully made and displayed, DELICIOUS. The chicken pieces were wonderful, no bone, white meat. They always make their potatoes lovely. The sauce. The olives with and without pits! Everything. I added Arugula, Shallots and Avocado for $3 extra. Worth it! Maybe they can add it apart of the meal. Maybe a small cup of mint tea for after! And maybe they can add Moroccan cookies on the menu if there isnāt! My friend got a sausage egg and cheese which after receiving She had to change some ingredients due to her pregnancy and they did so with no problem!! They were so helpful and attentive, no attitudes or sign of unhappiness. The menu is just incredible. The Guy who made it was in the store and I went to recommended the Tajine to Him without knowing as I saw He was about to order. God Bless Him 10 fold. I love this place and will visit more often. I got the Rose Lemonade. Incredible and delicious as well topped with real roses. This place is a Gem! No place in the area like it. I wish they stood open later!! THANK YOU! A good spot for any type of meeting or a good place to chill. Iām not sure if theyāre having events at the moment but Iāve been to one before, mostly during Summer. Very comforting. A good place to...
