BE CAREFUL- Overpriced guac and chips for such a small amount of guac, but grateful for the small portions cause I got extremely sick within a matter of hours. Violently vomiting for over the next 12 hours;even after my stomach emptied! Almost went to the ER! How you mess up guac? I have no idea. How 4 quick ingredients come out to nearly 12 dollars.. idk either. Just be careful where you eat. And please , RESTAURANTS, keep it clean no matter what! Slacking on hygiene puts lives at risk!
OK UPDATE on my review since they want to come at me with lies, rather than apologies for the hours of agony I went through! 1st. You don’t know who I am! 2nd. I did take the guac and ate it (unfortunately) and can provide proof on my end . You can check the cameras of me buying the guac and leaving AND I did eventually go to the ER because the sickness continued. Bloodwork confirmed that it was not from food going bad, but from possibly a worker not washing hands or not a clean work space. Yes I’ll gladly call the health department. Thank you! 👍🏾
Your response is proof of how nasty this place really is. All you had to do was apologize...
Read moreThis little eatery was lovely and I'll be back again soon. When you enter you are surrounded in a "dia de los muertos" visual extravaganza. The place is filled with murals, art, ceramics and hundreds of tchotchkes celebrating the event.
Ok I'll be honest. I only tried three things. The chef gave us a sample of some of this tamarind granita which I cannot remember what it was actually called but it was an iced tamarind dessert that was sort of sour, sweet and spicy all at the same time. It but all the buttons. Hard to describe. I got the enchiladas and then my friend and I shared a quesadilla with Huitlacoche. If you don't know what that is, Google it and then try it. Not were delicious. I tried the milder enchiladas but the sauce was fresh and flavorful.
The place has been there for several years and it is so clean it looks brand new. The chef was so welcoming and proud and talked all about our different things.
I cannot...

After sitting down and taking in the place, four teenage girls came in and ordered drinks from the front counter, which serves fresh juices and crazy iced drinks. I noticed the family that was seated already had them too and suddenly felt left out, enticing this order. The diablito (little devil) is all spice and no relief like some other versions with mango, etc. It was an experience, but I think I would stick to the half spicy half sweet versions, as the red pepper ice is not a delicious flavor on its own. Xime Deli itself is a fun place to hang out, Mexican blankets on some tables and the flag on others, festive colors and banners everywhere and ukuleles...
