I would give this place negative stars if I could. It's expensive $18.50 for white rice and a main dish. I ordered chicken saag. I was given rice chicken vindaloo with a little spinach on the side. I brought the food back to the cashier and explained this is not what I ordered. She said that is what it is, chicken vindloo and saag on the side. I knew it eas that because my friend ordered chicken vindaloo. It didnt even taste good anyhow. The cashier stated the only difference was the spinach wasn't blended. I said no, chicken saag is chicken stewed in the saag not separate items. She argued with me and continued to say the same thing. I asked for a refund and she continued to tell me different places make it differently. She kept saying that's what you ordered. It's ridiculous. I said if that's what you're giving people then you need to change the name and the picture. Then another worker came over and said we're just workers and don't control the food or signs. The two if them started talking to each which appeared as if she was telling her she gave me the wrong thing. But she never admitted it and it was one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. The workers are rude and clueless. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Small portion, high cost, didn't taste good, and horrible service. The Urban Hawker is hot and doesn't have comfortable seating. Much rather spend a little more and go to an actual restaurant.
Hi. Thank you for replying to my review. It was at the Urban Hawker location. I did get a refund. The employees should be trained better to know the food they are preparing and serving. They were also arguing with me which was not a pleasant experience especially with the uncomfortable...
Read moreI gave this place 2 shots and wish I read the review of Shelbi Richardson (Thank you Shelbi) before trying this place for a 2nd time because I Really wanted to try a full entree and SHE is 💯 right about the Chicken Tikka, barely any flavor possibly frozen beforehand. Better flavor at Trader Joes frozen indian meals, and at least they are $4/6. Also, the cashier at the Bryant Park Winter Village Stand is rude and refused to plate my rice separately. For $18.50, I'm determined to stretch this out to 2 meals. They don't take cash and say about tipping $3 (why it is a to-go stand), but it's a subpar meal. This place is expensive for no reason. Go to a sit-down restaurant on Lexington in Curry Hill for better food around the same price. 1st time here, I had the curry chicken Naan wrap. It fell apart in 2 minutes, and why is it $14?! Paying this much and not in love with the food, no thanks The chicken Vindaloo sample I had wasn't really spicy either and had some weird extra vinegar sauce on top, the rice in the entree dish is white and yellow and comes with diced tomatoes? 🤔 I wanted to be in love with this place the way everyone else is, but I am NOT Not getting fresh traditional...
Read morel was staying at the Sheraton on 52nd street last night. Got hungry asked a staff member about the local eats and she recommended the Urbanspace. Three words: BEST DECISION EVER! I went around perusing the Urbanspace until I heard someone yell: "get ready for addiction!" Turns out it came from the one Indian food joint in the space. I've eaten Indian food before but never, ever this good. I'm the kind of person that will eat an Indian food place and ask for less spice than usual and everyone else eats the food as is or more spicy. I didn't need to here. Everything was better than I could've hoped. I got chicken Vindaloo with biryani rice with a slice of naan. If I had any room left in the old tummy I would've eaten another bowl! I certainly will be back again for that second bowl and probably a couple of samosas. Shout out to Mohammed who took my order. Answered the few questions I had and filled my bowl to the absolute brim. I cannot recommend this place enough. "Welcome...
