Honestly, I’ve heard great things about capital Grille. So I had to try it for the first time ever. I’ve heard tremendously amazing things about the one by the Chrysler building so I decided to go on my birthday. I drove an hour and a half for an event in the city, and then it turned out the event was done a lot earlier than my reservation, so I called in advance to let them know. Hey, can I switch the reservation for an earlier time which was available at 5:15 I got there. The staff looked very confused. They did not see much reservation was changed even though over the phone I was all good and settled ready to go for 515 reservation was done figured out about 45 minutes later when we sat down around 6 o’clock and then everything went wrong from a to Z from dirty glasses and silverware to not having any attention by the bus boy or even the waitress two even or dirty spoons at the end for the dessert. Do you wanna get started on the food? I don’t wanna keep this review long. The only good thing was the oysters, tuna tartare and the tap water. It took about 40 minutes just for the appetizers to get there. It took about 10 minutes for a cocktail to get there that did not even taste well so we returned it. The waitress really tried to help us and give us free shots even though we didn’t want them, so we just left them on the side of the table. We just wanted to have a good dinner but everything just went wrong. I’m not sure if we just had a bath table or if we just had the wrong date to come in and dine there, but honestly, I’ve never had such a bad experience in a restaurant that is all that apparently. The Chilean Seabass was disgusting and I’ve had bachelors devices and I’ve managed to eat them still, but I couldn’t even have more than three bites. Even my other half tasted it, which was for bison total and we just returned it. waitress didn’t even ask if the food was OK after seeing we barely even ate our food Wilder have had the steak and lobster tail. She enjoyed hers. The sides were OK but the fact that we didn’t even get the attentive service about if the food was OK if everything was all right, waiting for clean silverware, waiting for water having to keep asking for water every time. At the end, the only thing taken care of was the cocktail that we didn’t drinK and honestly I’m not going to complain The check was 400 in total with the tip. I still tipped 20% even though the service was horrible and I was waiting for everything and I was waiting for clean silverware and I was waiting for all of my food way too long, especially the appetizers. But honestly, I’ve never coming back here just the fact that I was not even asked if anything was wrong. I’m not asking for a refund not asking for anything in return I’m just letting you guys know whoever the main manager whoever reads this that this is...
Read moreThe Capital Grille is a world renowned upscale fine dining restaurant that offers guests first class service and top quality dishes ranging from steaks, lamb chops, chicken and salmon based meals.
In February of 2024, I brought and treated myself and my wife for dinner at Capital Grill, specifically the branch based at the Chrysler Center, to celebrate our Happy Six Year Anniversary!!!
We’d like to thank Capital Grill for making our anniversary truly special, and one in which we’ll forever cherish.
We were warmly welcomed by the restaurant’s staff and were quickly provided with a very comfortable table. Throughout the evening, the staff graciously acknowledged and wished us a wonderful anniversary and thanked us for celebrating the occasion at Capital Grille.
Our server, Corey O treated us with impeccable hospitality and made us feel very welcomed and right at home!!! He was kind, incredibly courteous, superbly addressed all of our inquiries and offered great insight and suggestions on the menu options.
In addition to the great service, both my wife and I were impressed with Capital Grille’s elegant settings, especially the dark wood paneled interior, the tall glass windows, and the gorgeous art portraits spread throughout the restaurant. The playing of jazz music and classic hits sung by Billie Holiday & Louis Armstrong were also a great treat and enriched our romantic evening!!!
Last, but certainly not least, my wife and I absolutely loved our meals. Everything from the appetizers to the entrees to our dessert was perfectly delicious!!! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would grade our meals a score of “ Infinity & Beyond.”
My wife ordered and enjoyed her lamb chop based entree & her spinach side dish, while I ordered and loved my pan seared salmon based entree & my mash potato side dish. Our meals were superbly seasoned, tasty and wonderfully cooked. Our dessert, the Classic Crème Brûlée was simply off the charts and unquestionably delicious!!!
We’d like to again thank Capital Grille for making our anniversary celebration truly special, and for providing us with an amazing dining experience!!! It definitely ranks among our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding...
Read moreMade a reservation with two co workers. To be fair one of them was over 30 minutes late but they stuck us at a horrible noisy table at the bar by a bunch of office happy hours. When the waitress came by originally she was super nice and was telling us about 12 different beers which I complimented her saying I give her credit for remembering all of those especially during such a busy and crowded time. I ordered a Peroni my friend ordered a Stella. I could have sworn I saw her give me the Stella and said something very politely but gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was so confident. My friend drank his beer and said I was right he definitely got the Peroni but I saw she was busy and let it go. I ordered a $74 bone in sirloin and asked for it medium rare. It comes out looking a little chard I took one bit of it and it definitely was on the medium/ medium well side and was very dry. I just literally had a steak at wollenskys the other night with no issues. I very politely asked her over and said I'm so sorry I apologize but this is a little over cooked I think it's medium maybe even medium well. Which she grabbed the dish rolled her eyes and walked away. About 2 minutes later she comes back and says "so you think this is medium well?!" Which I said well it's definitely not medium rare and pulled my flashlight on my phone out which she gave me attitude again. She comes back again "we are cooking you a new one and making it Rare +" as if I'm the issue here. The manager John comes over and could not been any nicer and even gave me a free beer. He asked me to try my new steak which I said was fine because he was being so nice and the waitress made me feel like I was some monster but truthfully it wasn't even rare it was raw and when I bit into it it was so cold. I felt obligated to eat it because the waitress would have had a fit. When we were done with our entrees she angrily dropped the check on the table and didn't even offer dessert or anything else. I understand it was extremely busy and hate complaining but this waitress could not have been any more unpleasant for something I didn't even do. On the check I gave her 18% but wrote PS you did give me the Stella. Very disappointing. Will not be...
