REGARDING EMPLOYMENT / HIRING
I was scheduled for an interview after I was called by the manager and my experience was so unprofessional. When all the interviewees came in for a group interview, she had us just stand there waiting and waiting and not telling us what to do or where to go and we were in the way of customers. She was busy laughing with a coworker.
She had us write the hours we were available so I wrote for my free days “all day” since i am free all day. She said that I have to write specific hours. I asked the store hours and she’s only said they have shifts for all hours. I restated that I am free all those hours. She was making a big deal to write specific hours but wouldn’t tell me when the earliest shift would start. I just wanted to give my accurate availability, who doesn’t want to hire someone with open availability? She kept getting my name wrong too. She was just unorganized and they clearly favored another girl interviewing who came back since she worked there last season. They didn’t even make her answer any of the questions.
The assistant manager was super nice and professional. He did the interview. I never got any call or email about it UNTIL
2 weeks later I get a text saying I have an interview. The next day he calls me and he said we’re not gonna move forward with the interview. They said “were u in for an interview before?” I said yes and stated the date and i never heard anything back about the position. I assumed this was like a second interview since I thought they took a record of who they interview. He said “no im sorry we only interview people once you should’ve gotten an email that we went ahead with another candidate”. I said I never got anything and he just said yea sorry about that have a good day.
They’re clearly they are still looking to hire but i must’ve done bad in the interview if they still don’t want me even if they’re looking for someone still. It would’ve been professional to at least inform me instead of finding out this way. They don’t value...
Read moreUpdate: 3/19/2025 - I love this store! The staff is incredible! I feel like family whenever I shop here. Wanted to give a special shout out to Patricia who literally walked around the store with me till I located a candle I fell in love with - a limited scent (Easter Candy Basket) but nonetheless I appreciated her efforts and input! Kudos to the hiring manager - the staff is amazing across the board from the moment you walk through the front door. This is my "go-to" Bath and Body Works store in NYC primarily for the fantastic staff who work here. From the moment you walk through the door, you're treated like a rock star! I can't begin to list all the names of the staff who over the years have treated me like a VIP when I shop there but I did want to give a special shout out to Cashmere, who was so helpful and efficient during my last shopping spree there.
Highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood (conveniently located across the street from Grand Central Station). Their inventory is fantastic, especially during the...
Read moreTheir selection is great, the store is well organized, and there are nice sales here (independent of online sales). In general, the employees here are helpful and nice, though somewhat pushy. However, some of the ladies working at the cash register have demanded to take my phone in their hands (DURING covid, mind you) to swipe through my emails when I have tried to use my email coupons, as well as demanded to swipe through my entire order confirmation email when I’m doing an in-store exchange, which I felt was an invasion of privacy and not in line with B&BW’s no-questions-asked return/exchange policy.
The email coupons are supposed to be honored at every store, and nowhere does it say the employees get to take your phone to swipe through your phone before they will honor the coupons. Pretty upset about the rude and over the top employees here on my last visit. Happy I am moving and will no longer have to go to this...
