Next Door Restaurant — Restaurant in New York

This is my second time coming to this location. Wanted to give it another chance but this place loses it points again with there terrible customer service. We understand that we walked in late. But if you did not want to accommodate us then you should have not let us in. It is not okay to make anyone feel rushed ESPECIALLY PAYING CUSTOMERS. Food is amazing but the staff makes it so hard to return with the exception of the hostess. She was the only person to greet us. The waiter rushed our service, didn't even greet us, no clue his name, didn't tell us-was very rude and unprofessional! Did not even serve us water until I told another guy at the end to let him know my party of 7 did not get any water and no bread. Whenever our waiter returned he looked as if we were a bother to him, did not crack a smile once. Both times my family and I went our bill has been over $400. Both times tip was included in the bill when it was very much NOT DESERVED! When I told him at the end how we felt he said sorry kitchen was closing so he had to rush us, okay but your customer service sucks, did not check on us, ask us if we're ok or need anything. Had to ask a different waiter for a drink refill and to serve us all water and another waiter for napkins since we got none when our food was served. Don't let people in cause you want their money and not deliver good service period. Definitely not returning, they are several great restaurants in the area I rather spend my money and...

I came here with my family for my boyfriend’s mom’s birthday, and honestly, this was the worst service I have ever experienced. It was our first time, and we didn’t know the menu well since we are not Italian. The waiter was rude and had no patience with us. When we asked questions, he actually said, “Which salad?” in a very disrespectful way, as if we were supposed to know everything already. That was crazy and unprofessional.

The food was delicious, but the service ruined the whole night. The tip was already mandatory 18%, which came out to almost $400. We were short just $8, and instead of letting it go, the waiter came up to us and caused a big scene. He was so rude and made us feel embarrassed, even though some of the other staff were nice.

It felt like he was forced to serve us because we were a big group, and the way he treated us was disgusting and racist. We came to celebrate and instead left feeling disrespected. Honestly, no family should ever be treated this way.

Be grateful we even tipped at all, because this was not worth it. Never coming...

Lovely location with horrible food & ridiculous prices. Came in on a very dead slow empty nite. 5 gentleman & one lady. 2 of us own restaurants. Please do not advertise as an "Italian" restaurant - 1 chef dining with us. The chicken marsala was actually the color of chocolate -gross & chicken cutlet was tough. My friend was sick after we left. 6 people at a table & they kept bringing us 4 tiny pieces of bread & small saucers of olive oil. Drinks overpriced. The Russian waiter could not pronunce the Italian names of the specials. (We are all native New Yorkers) so we know good food. Tiramisu delicious. Nice atomosphere - but we dine out for the GOOD FOOD not candlelight. We were shocked at what was being presented as Italian food, don't waste your $$, go to a genuine Italian restaurant. We are sucessful people, so the prices don't scare us off -if the food is great. We threw our leftovers outside in the pail on the corner. Why are you people so cold when customers enter your establishments?? Duh ...learn how to greet...
