I usually don’t write reviews, but I was so taken back by the food and service (or in this case, lack thereof) at this place that I have to make an exception. To begin with, their Classic Burger is just OK/average, nothing special, which would be fine for a place that doesn’t have the word “BURGER” as their restaurant name. However, in a place with the name “Soup N Burger”, I expect AT LEAST those two foods to be phenomenal! Beware, although the waitress insisted the burger comes with onions, it does not. Next, their omelets. The menu shows that their omelets come with home fries and salad. But when I ordered a mozzarella cheese omelet, I received about four to five pieces of potato wedges (very much reminiscent of school cafeteria food). And the best part was the “salad” …three to four pieces of tomato and cucumber! “Salad”? I don’t think so! The omelet itself was dripping in oil, but I’ve seen worse. I actually sent it back since I specifically asked for it to be more on the side of well done and it was NOT. The manager/owner was nice and offered a new omelet, but at this point I was too disgusted, so instead I decided to give their grill cheese a go. And boy did I regret sending back those eggs. The grilled cheese was less than superb – a bit hard, rubbery, and tasteless – overall, difficult to swallow. The french fries had a wonderful texture – crispy on the outside – fluffy on the inside…but BLAND, and I’ve never heard of a burger joint where the fries don’t come WITH the burger – had to pay separately. The chocolate and cotton candy ice creams were boring – just scoops of sweetness with no real flavor, other than freezer burn. It really says a lot about a place when the best tasting thing there is WATER. The place itself is really nice and the mugs were pretty enough to buy (which they do sell separately)! But to add insult to injury, the service was simply not good, and that’s being kind. The food arrived in a decent time, but there was a very long wait for anyone to even take the order and generally, the waiters/waitresses were not attentive at all. Pretty much the best thing I can say about my experience is that at least they didn't charge me for the eggs. I don’t understand any of the positive reviews about this place. The only thing I know is that I REALLY miss El Greco, now more than ever.
UPDATE: I was desperate for french fries, so I decided to give this place another go -- this time for delivery. How bad could it be a second time...right? Well, unfortunately I got my answer. Delivery was no better than eating there. French fries arrived over-fried and still bland, and cheese fries arrived with just a glop of cheese tossed on top. And it's sad to say, but the cheese was actually better than the fries it covered! What really threw me off was when the fries (which are supposed to be served hot) arrived in the same plastic bag (not insulated) with ice cold lemonade and cold bottled water (placed on top of the fries)! Hot food and cold drinks really should be packed separately! While visually unpleasing, to my surprise, the lemonade was actually quite good -- probably the best part of the meal. Final verdict: Two star place, if just for the...
Read moreHonestly if i could give this place a 0 i would. I’ve came to this place multiple times and it’s never been like how my experience was today I am never the type to write reviews because me myself work in a restaurant but everything here is absolutely disgusting. The only thing that gives it a 1 is the fact that i can’t give 0 starts & the guac that i had basically a spoon of. Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner because i have came here multiple times with my family and it’s always been good. We ordered the spinach dip a cheeseburger a shrimp quesadilla, and 2 cokes. First of all i work in a restaurant so to see this type of service first hand was honestly disgusting. We ordered the dip thinking it would come out first, it did not, some how the cheese fries that my girlfriend ordered as her side to her burger came out first WITH BARELY ANY CHEESE. AND STILL NO DRINKS, 2 cans of coke took over 15 minutes to come out, while she’s over here pacing around to everyone else and still no drinks come out i guess she felt the pressure when i kept eyeing her because then she finally came out with the drinks half way done with the fries, when she put them down she didn’t say anything just rudely put them down. All of sudden, my shrimp quesadilla comes out and the dip comes out my girlfriends burger nowhere to be found. The burger comes out and it looks mediocre looks like a frozen burger that came from a packaging. I tasted the quesadilla and it was bland as hell. And that’s the only thing i ever get from there so i knew it was off. A shrimp fell out and it looks like it wasn’t devained cause it was black, The dip was horrible and the cheese tasted completely off. The burger was tasteless. $15 for a burger that comes with no fries, and looks completely unappealing it didn’t even look good to the eye. She goes to put ketchup on it THE KETCHUP IS COMPLETELY EMPTY, the server doesn’t once come up to ask us if anything is okay or if the food is good. She’s worried about all the men that are there going up to them getting them what they need. Eventually i get annoyed and im like im going to get the ketchup myself because this is ridiculous then she finally decides to pop out of god knows where so i tell her can i get a ketchup because this one has nothing in it it’s empty and she says oh im sorry about that. So you guys don’t fill up the ketchups or check them before you set up the tables??. I’m pissed off with the food and i’m like whatever i want the bill, 20 minutes for the bill because the server is nowhere to be found. The best part to top it off AFTER SHE CHARGES MY CARD AND I PAY SHE THEN ASK ME IF I WANTED ANYTHING TO GO. Legit the worst experience i have ever had in this place and i will never go back it was so unwelcoming and so disgusting. The service is terrible don’t waste your money here your better off going to applebees for better service. Soup and burger will never get my...
Read moreMe and my friends are pretty frequent customers to this restorant, and the food is actually really good so props to them for that. However, you would expect a certain level professionalism from the staff especially if you are a loyal and respectful set of customers. Getting to the point, this one waiter always gives my friends and I a horrible experience. They don't wear name tags so I can't say who he is specifically, but if you get him you will probably figure it out. For example, last week my friends and I went there to celebrate the last day of classes after we left work. Not only did this man smell like he hasn't showered in weeks, but he completely disregarded taking my friends order and while 2 of us got our food, he had the nerve to look and ask if my friend wanted anything in the most nonchalant tone. Obviously my friend said yes and he sarcastically made it look like he wrote something down and said that the food will come in a few minutes. While me and one friend were basically done with our food, my other friends food literally never showed up. That wasn't the worst example tho. Just the other day me and the same 2 friends went there but only because it's was the only open restorant at that time of night, otherwise we would have probably went anywhere else. Of course we also got the same waiter. Things went pretty well and we pretty much agreed that last time was probably a one night thing. Turns out we completely jinxed ourselves. I wanted to order a drink because I had finished my water and as this guy walks my way, he sees me raise my hand to ask him for something then literally rolls his eyes like literally in front of me pretending to not see me, basically doing anything to avoid our table. That to me is honestly the worst thing you could possibly do at a restorant. It's not difficult to listen to an order and get the item because that's literally the majority of the work that you have to do. I work retail so I understand that when it's late at night, and it's probably close to the end of your shift, you really don't feel like dealing with anyone. However that's no excuse to be disrespectful. Like I've literally had to stay hours past my shift to get customers phones activated because of issues that leave me on hold for like ever, but I still least my composure and be respectful with the customer I'm dealing with. All this guy had to do was listen for 5 seconds and get a drink. I would kill for my job to give me an issue that small, like there is literally no excuse for that immature behavior.
PS The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because the rest of the staff is generally pretty great, it's just that one guy. On top of that the food is really good and is even worth the extra charge of you use grubhub, plus they get the food to your house pretty...
