Came here while passing through New York. The design and atmosphere was curated well. It gave the restaurant a feel of sophistication, but not pompous. The colours Ramesh well with each other, and this makes that space feel fantastical. The Macy’s next door is an unfortunate part of the space, but truly it be unfair to judge the place based on this. The outdoor view is beautiful, the furniture is a juxtaposition on both fun and casual, and posh and lux.
The service was excellent. At times it did feel a bit slowish, but the server was quite responsive and attentive. They were also quite friendly, informative, and had a charm about them that made the experience all that much better.
The food was great. My tastes are picky, so I’ll have to give both mine and my friend who came along. (To give an idea of my pickiness: I don’t like tomatoes, raw/diced onions, green beans, and creamy/wet things) I ordered the smoked steak/ribs, shrimp risotto, raspberry cheesecake. The smoked ribs was soft, delicate, and cooked through. I thought it was well presented, with its smoke glass plate. The taste was enjoyable, but I think it could use a bit more spices or salt. All in all it was very enjoyable. The Shrimp Risotto was my favorite (I did pick away some of the tomatoes like parts). It was an excellent consistency, not too creamy, chunky, or overly seasoned. The only caveat I’d give, is that it felt that there was only 1 shrimp lol. It could be that the garnish shrimp was mainly for show, and the shrimp was well mended into risotto, which would explain its delicate taste and superb mouthfeel. The cheesecake was delicious, although the raspberry jam-like substance on top was a bit much, and only because it was more tart than sweet; if it was sweeter than tart, I think the amount would’ve been perfect. The garnish on top was lovely and the playing was beautiful across all the dishes. My friends absolutely loved the smoked ribs, gushing about how soft and delicious it was. One friend ordered the lamb; I’ve had lamb in London and New Zealand, and while it was enjoyable, it always felt less than perfect. But this lamb was to die for. I can’t really describe just how absolutely delicious it was. I wish I had ordered it, but I’m glad I was able to try it. My wife got the steak, which was ordered Medium, and it was accurate, soft, and melted in your mouth. Absolutely worth the order. My wife enjoyed the steak so much she was reluctant to offer me a piece lol. She devoured the lamb that was offered as well. Her steak came with potatoes, but I was unable to try those. She did mention they were enjoyable though. The other friends coveted their food, so I can only assume they enjoyed it lol. One friend had the salmon which liked great. They said it was flaky and buttery.
The pricing feels a bit steep, but not so much that it would keep me away. I’d say the pricing adheres to the style and atmosphere. Portion size reflects this as well. They may seem a bit small, but I think they’re accurate for being able to taste and savor the dishes.
There was live music, which definitely added to the ambience of the space. At about close to closing though there’s a club that starts popping off upstairs and that can throw the mood.
The drinks were decent with the old fashion ands apple martini being the best in my opinion.
All in all I would recommend this place.

Read moreHow this place has any good reviews is beyond me. The service we experienced was lovely but if were to go to restaurants to tip on the food and not enjoy it, I’d rather just cook at home. The food today was insulting, BEYOND PREPOSTEROUS. This seems to be a trend in sheepshead bay, do not consume seafood here on the weekends. They seem to get their deliveries on mon/tues and by the time the weekend comes, it’s spoiled. On a $200 tab, the only good thing we had were the mezze. All seafood dishes smelled rotten and disgusting but because we were celebrating a special occasion, we didn’t complain. Soups were runny and no taste. The best thing served was a salad. Desert was a miss again. Pistachio shells in a desert, really??? It took every ounce of strength not to send back all the food we ordered and for the prices being charged, i felt thoroughly humiliated. This establishment does not understand quality, customer service, fairness, and is simply a pick up lounge pretending to be a restaurant in the evenings. News flash, when we tell you someone in our family has a HEARING DISABILITY, you’re obligated by law to accommodate. But no, rather than doing so until we left, which we could not wait to leave, they turned the music up 20 min after our request to accommodate to their evening crowd that was not even there. Our servers were lovely and kind, as they are expected to be. Only positive of this experience. I have eaten at the finest restaurants in the country at prices LOWER than this. This establishment charges 50% above food I have eaten at eleven Madison park for items I wouldn’t even feed my dog. Summarily, do not come here and save your money.
PS I have never left a bad review before in my life because I have class. Unfortunately, that is something that wasn’t afforded to my family with the food...
