Good, friendly, attentive service. The food was very good, generous portions, good presentation. Overall, I would recommend this establishment and I may return in the future. There were a couple things that what would have been 5* turned into 4*. The meal I ordered came first, while the rest of the meals for the family came afterwards in waves. In the time waiting for the rest of the meals to arrive, my meal had become rather cold. Perhaps due to being only one person in the kitchen and one waitress. There was another person setting up the tables, (busboy), don't believe he was also a waiter/server. Another negative was the extra charge placed on credit/debit purchases. That has been a deal breaker for me in the past, whereby at times I would avoid returning to the same establishment. The sign regarding this was only by the cash register, so one has no idea prior. Also, when the bill was brought to the table, the charge was already on it. Our intention might have been to pay in cash, how could anyone have known? Unless it gets removed upon going to the cash register.

This spot is a hidden gem in Astoria the dishes are amazing the meats are well seasoned and have a great flavor. The veggies are grilled perfect with hints of spices. The Greek salad was delicious the feta cheese was so tasty. The lemon potatoes where amazing. Now if you want to sample all the delicious proteins try the Small mix Grill a plate of meat seasoned to perfection grilled and layed on some seasoned pita bread with grilled veggies and delicious red onions. The plate is for about 3or 4 people and it really comes loaded. Chase that down with a ICE COLD MYTHOS BEER. The sauces are great there a Greek spicy cheese sauce, nikos sauce,Tzatziki sauce for dipping all your choices of meats. Service was Great portions where Generous as well. Lots of leftover food for the road. Stop in and enjoy the food and the calm quite ambiance.

Strolling past Niko Souvlaki on a casual evening wander, I didn’t expect to stumble into a culinary Greek hug—but that’s exactly what happened. This spot doesn’t whisper “maybe try me”, it shouts “you’re gonna want me.” I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter on a whim, expecting something modest. Instead, I was handed a dish so generously portioned it looked like it was cooked by a Greek grandma with strong opinions about portion control. And let me tell you—every bite slapped. Succulent chicken, vibrant sides, and just the right seasoning to make your taste buds throw a plate-smashing celebration. Not only did it satisfy a craving, it left me planning my next Mediterranean detour. If you’re in the mood for hearty comfort food that’s equal parts flavor and generosity, this is the spot.

I just want to start this review by saying that the food was good in this establishment, but everything else was HORRIBLE. I tend to stray away from writing reviews but this experience was so bad. I really want to avoid any person or family to go through what we went through Sunday evening. My husband and I and our two little ones were looking to eat some delicious Greek food and we saw amazing reviews on Nikos. The moment we entered we were met with hostility at one point we were standing by the door and they were staring at us as if we were lost or didn't know where we were. Rosalia the waitress asked very rudely Are you waiting to sit down? All we said was "yeah" very confused at this behavior. We sit down and they completely forget we were even there. People were getting served except for us. No menus, no water, and no cups the same Rosalia waitress comes and says "omg you guys haven't gotten menus? Again, I'm like really? She gives us the menus, again no water no plates nothing. At this point, clearly I didn't want to think the worst but we weren't wanted in this establishment. I honestly believe it's because we're Latino and not White nor Greek. They ended up giving us a jug of water with no cups. My 3 year old daughter was asking for water and if it were not for the White couple sitting next to us, we wouldn't have gotten cups. We asked for ginger ale, never got it. Despite all of the blatant racism and disrespect we were calm, cool, and collected. We ate and the food was really good, but we have NEVER been treated so cold in any other food establishment. Rosalia realizing in the end that we didn't get the ginger ale was trying to give it to us on the "house" because she knew how bad we had been treated. Clearly, they didn't want us there and I'll be making sure to not go back. I rarely ever get this disgruntled at these things, but I really felt like we were being treated like trash. It is 2024, all I can say...

The lemon potatoes from this place go from God's kitchen to your plate. I am not Greek but after eating the take out of this place I strongly believing we are wasting the potential of any potato that is not lemoned. Also, I am not vegetarian and appreciate a chef that can make me enjoy vegetables-- the veggie kalamaki oyster mushrooms were good that day and better the next in a sandwich. The tricolor salad was excellent for sharing and is kind of like lemony-vinegary-ambrosial slaw that goes well on sandwiches or wrapped in the pita with some tzatziki sauce. I'm not sure what Skepasti is supposed to taste like, but what I ate was delicious. It came in 4 pieces, was great to share, with tons of chicken and melted cheese. The owner selected bifteka merides for me-- they are like little beef burgers/patties served with rice and a salad and tzatziki. 2 to an order, so easy to share and very flavorful and tasty. We had the pancetta appetizer too, which was good, but it is hard to mess up roasted pork belly in my opinion. I would recommend this place for quick, casual and tasty Greek to share with meat-heads, vegetarians and...

Being a Greek born and raised and living in Chicago, I've had my share of Greek food and Gyros from all over the Chicagoland area. However, while on business in Brooklyn, NY last week, I met a friend who lives in Astoria. He asked me what I felt like eating and I told him a Gyros. We ended up at Nikos Gyros and he claimed they had amazing food. WOW, was that an understatement! I had a Gyros platter and it was simply spectacular. The gyros platter was so damn good, I got stuck with a cancelled flight back to Chicago on Friday, September 29th due to the severe rain and flash flooding that I ended up staying at the Hampton Inn LaGuardia Airport. I called an Uber and right back to Nikos Gyros I went for the spectacular food. I even asked to meet Niko and tell him personal that Chicago Gyros has nothing worthy of what Nikos Gyros serves. Niko also served me a sweet greek desert called 'Portokalopita' (Orange sweet cake) which was also to die for.....and Christina was amazing as well, non stop smiling and great attention to customer satisfaction. Νίκο, σε ευχαριστώ...
