On a nice cool day I walked over to Terrace Bagels, having heard beforehand from numerous sources that spoke very highly of their bagels. The location is in a very nice area and there were plenty of people lining up to get the goods that Terrace Bagels offers. However, the large amount of people didn't pose much of an issue as the line that took up the entirety of the first half of the storefront moved very quickly. When I saw the line I thought it would take a while, but in no time my order was taken, and I was able to pay for my food.

Whenever I go to a new bagel place I opt for an everything bagel with cream cheese untoasted. Since I was particularly hungry, I elected to get two of them, even though I was almost tempted to try one of their extremely green bagels for St. Patricks day. They were so green that I wasn't sure I wanted to ingest that much food coloring so I just stuck with the two everythings.

All in all, the bagels lived up to the hype. Nice texture and crisp on the outside with a soft center; how I feel a bagel should be. There could have been a bit more "everything" on it, but there was a good amount of flavor in it. Had I not already got an extra bagel, I most definitely would have got up and went back around for another one.

I would have given them 5 stars, but the high volume of people leads to a not so quiet atmosphere. The amount of people that go in can be a bit overwhelming for some, but I think overall the experience is good. Plus I like their man/bagel or bagelman logo! If I'm in the area I will definitely go back...

The best! There's nothing quite like exiting the F Train on 16th Street/9th Ave. at 5:30am-6:00am on a Saturday morning after partying in the City or elsewhere all night, and catching the aroma of bagels in various stages of preparation (boiling/baking) as you reach the street level on 9th Ave (PPW). Their pumpernickel bagels are so delicious, especially when put in the oven unsliced at 350° for 10 minutes, just to make the crust crispy, and the inside chewy! With cream cheese and jam, it's like nirvana! (Same for their onion and other "traditional" bagels, and "newer" flavors.) Terrace Bagels made such an impression on my good friend from London that when I went over to visit, I had to take a bag over in my checked suitcase! Two friends who were meeting me at Heathrow were holding plastic spoons (no knives, forks, or other sharp objects)and little single-serve packets of Philly! (My Labradors also loved the various bagels. So much so that they "'gaslighted' me" by stealing the bag off the counter and eating 7-8 of 'em, including the brown paper bag!) Those who say that "flour and water" could be done better don't know real bagels. REAL bagels are made simply with flour, water, yeast, and egg white to brush the tops and dip into toppings! A cup of coffee and the view from my co-op's sitting room, enjoying the Sunday Times crossword-what more could one ask for? Perfect on a cold winter morning, or warm morning any other time of the year (with my...

For a city that never sleeps, NYC is a difficult place to find a quality bagel at odd hours of the night. Imagine it is your birthday, and you just spent 3 hours dancing at a pretentious Williamsburg club/bar, where a lot of calories and sweat were shed. It is now 5AM in the morning, you are wandering the rainy, quiet streets of Brooklyn, and there is a an emptiness within you that can only be filled with a perfectly toasted bagel and a generous slathering of cream cheese. The only 24/7 bagel place on your path is closed due to a kitchen fire, and you don't want to settle for a bodega bagel, you want the real thing. After some research, you jump on the G, committing the 35 minutes of travel time necessary to reach Terrance Bagels, praying that you will be met with deliciousness, and not mediocre dough. Once you arrive, you are not disappointed. You order one whole wheat, everything bagel, and one cinnamon raisin, because c'mon, it was just your birthday and you deserve to cope with your increasing proximity to death with a good dose of carbs and a balanced mix of sweet-and-salty. The two beauties arrive to you perfectly toasted, with the perfect amount of cream cheese to match. Each bite is like a slice of heaven, and there are tears in your eyes as you celebrate the miracle that is a perfectly crunchy outside and a soft, doughy inside. It is 6AM, you are satisfied, and you can now head...

I love this place. It has the best bagels from whole wheat bagels to pumpernickel bagel! So fresh and plump (as my husband likes to say lol). My go to are the lox bagel and white fish salad. It’s out of this world. If you want to try both get the split decision which comes with lox on one side of the bagel and whitefish on the other. Aside from bagels, they also have plenty of options for sandwiches and salads/coffee and cold drinks. I’ve also had egg salad and shrimp salad and they were also pretty good. Lines are long in the mornings and there is only a s all seating area; seats are mostly full but there’s a sitting area just half a block away where you can sit and enjoy close to Prospect Park (just be aware of bird poop) Staff if pretty nice and quick with their service. I do think items are on the pricier side but it’s New York City and you’re also paying for quality. For 2 bagels (if we’re going with lox and whitefish)and 2 small coffees, we are paying close to $40 including tip but it is worth it. Sodas and Snapple’s are around $3-$4 per bottle depending on what you are getting.
