Around 9pm after the C broke down due to an injury on the track and I was forced to walk 30 minutes I otherwise would have been underground and seated for, hungry, failed by 3 bodegas for a grilled cheese sandwich, I came to Pasha Pizza (Pita & Falafel). I could eat falafel for every meal, and I have had a lot of it in this city and around the world; it is my "desert island food." I asked for a falafel sandwich with hummus. They asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said yes. A few minutes later they gave me the pita sandwich wrapped in tin. I had it to stay. The falafel was extremely crispy and well-seasoned, and the hummus was the right consistency too, mixing with the hot sauce near the bottom of the sandwich. The choice of cucumber mixed with kosher pickles, rather than the crude burger pickles I've seen in some falafel sandwiches, balanced out the hot sauce with a nice freshness. The pita was fresh, the lettuce was fresh, the tomatoes were fresh. I was sort of overwhelmed for other reasons, but I did tear up about halfway through this sandwich.
