So We went there last night before arriving we called spoke with someone asked if they could get us a table and they asked for a name to reserve, we gave the name the table was supposed to be reserved. We get to the restaurant the host that was there was clearly overwhelmed with the day and instead of him greeting us properly he asks who's next and I'm like we just got here so they must be next pointing to the people behind us he looked at me with that side stare people give you when you're annoying. He asks if we had a reservation(BALD GUY) I told him we did he looks at his list THERES NO NAME THERE, SO HES LIKE THERES NO NAME LET ME SEE WHAT WE CAN DO. He walks away and then he says 10 minutes wait. ON TOP OF THAT HE HAD A DOZEN ROSES IN A VASE AND WAS HANDING OUT ROSES TO THE WOMEN IN THE RESTAURANT & FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I QUESTIONED MYSELF BECAUSE WE'RE HISPANIC AND THE WOMEN HE GAVE THE FLOWER TO WAS CAUCASIAN AND HE DIDNT GIVE US ANYTHING. WE DIDNT EXPECT TO GET ONE BUT IF YOUR HANDING OUT FLOWERS TO WOMEN WHAT MADE US SO DIFFERENT OR NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO GET A ROSE?!!! ANYWAY.... we waited ..::we finally sit down now it's time to order and the entire restaurant is moving but no one is attending to us, finally we made a gesture to call a waiter over and ask if we could order. He starts taking the order and my sister asks of she can have pasta with the shrimp scampi BECAUSE THE MENU DIDNT SAY WHAT SIDE THE ORDER CAME WITH ( if it came with fettuccine, linguine, penne) and he's like no I'm sorry we cannot and we just looked at each other reallly confused because she's like ok what am I supposed to have the shrimp with ? The waiter walks away and says he would ask the kitchen if we can add pasta to the meal. MIND YOU ITS SUPPOSE TO COME WITH PASTA!! The waiter is like ok so we going to get you the shrimp scampi with spaghetti and ad the pasta and we are like SO CONFUSED. LIKE SIR THATS WHAT WE ASKED YOU WE ASKED YOU IF THE SHRIMP SCAMPI CAME WITH PASTA AND YOU SAID NO THE MENU IS AS IS AND WE CANNOT ADD TO YOUR ORDER anyway he was either confused or didn't know the menu himself. WE FINALLY GET OUR FOOD. THE SHRIMP SCAMPI WASNT GOOD AT ALL MY SISTER DIDNT EAT HER MEAL SHE WAS SO DISAPPOINTED THE PASTA LOOKED LIKE RAMEN SOUP, ON TOP OF HER NOT LIKING THE FOOD THE WAITER NEVER CAME OVER AND ASKED HOW WAS EVERYTHING IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING. WE ASKED FOR THE CHECK THE PERSON WE ASKED NEVER CAME BACK THAT WAS ANOTHER TWENTY MINUTES WAITING FOR NOTHING. WERE GOING TO DO DESERT BUT WE DECIDED NOT TO AFTER HOW POOR THE SERVICE AND FOOD WAS!! I WAS DISAPPOINTED I LIVE OUT OF STATE, I HAD COME TO PATRICIAS ONCE BEFORE AND I LIKED IT THAT I DECIDED TO COME BACK YESTERDAY AND YESTERDAY REALLY TURNED US OFF SO BAD MY SISTER LIVES NEAR BY SHE SAID I WOULD NEVER ORDER TAKE OUT OR DINE IN THEIR...
Read moreThis is our third visit to celebrate a family's birthday at this restaurant. We made this restaurant our yearly tradition because we always enjoy the special birthday experience. However, this visit seems very different.
First of all the restaurant was very empty, especially on a Friday night. Compared to the previous two years when the pandemic was at its peak, it was much more crowded. They were able to extend and fill outdoor seating two times when we visited, but this time they were closed. Their outdoor dining is actually attached to the restaurant and fully enclosed. The entrance changed this time as we had to enter from Grand Avenue instead of the side door near the restrooms. We also noticed a small table for two people was placed right next to the staircase which is awful as the debris could easily fall into the food when people stumble up and down the stairs. That table creates a very narrow passageway to and from the restroom area. Since the place is so empty, we don't understand why can't they place these customers somewhere else and/or eliminate the table.
Then, when it's time to serve the birthday dessert (that's the highlight of the entire meal - just love that song, it's special and cheerful!!), I notice the customers no longer use the table napkin to wave around while singing, they just do the clapping. I remember the atmosphere was phenomenal as the entire crowd (servers and customers) would wave the napkins and sing together. It just loses its charm this time.... and we are very disappointed.
Lastly, the menu price is much higher than the listed price on the website, probably 10% more in general. We usually check and compare menus between different Patrizia's as we wanted to try different locations, only to find out they carry different menus. This time, we ordered the wings requesting the sauce on the side but they failed to follow our instructions. Although we love the taste of all the pasta and pizza dishes, the overall quality dropped from previous years. The lobster pescatore is much smaller in size and fell short on the taste, just not as good as it used to.
Though we arrived much earlier than our reservation, we were seated promptly. The staff are very friendly. But that's about it. Not sure if we will return...
Read moreI am very upset, and very angry at Patrizia's of Maspeth. This restaurant has ruined all other restaurants for me. The level of service this place offers blew me away, and I'm afraid no other restaurant will ever match it. They put the "Family" in Family Style, and go above and beyond to make you happy. Happy is too little of a word. You are family here, and they treat you as such. We were there on a Sunday for a birthday and we had the family style option. Didn’t even look at a menu. First was multiple cold antipasto platters. A+. Followed by multiple hot apps, (Calamari, clams, eggplant parm, seafood platter, pizza,) I can’t even remember everything they brought out but there was plenty more, and everything was tastier then the next. We then had a lamb chop/ strip steak platters dropped off, with some stuffed pasta. Out of this world. Because it was Sunday, they could not let us go without Sunday sauce, including a meat platter with meatballs, sausage, ribs, and bracciole. Didn’t even ask, they just brought it. Amazing! Couldn’t finish the absurd amount of food they brought out, so they gleefully wrapped it up for us. The one thing that truly set this place apart than any other restaurant I have been in is this: We had 2 people in our party that arrived about 45 minutes early. The hostess sat them down at a 2 top, served them drinks, and brought them some apps. When we all arrived, they moved over to our big table to join us. A few minutes later, 1 of the 2 asked to close out the tab from the other table, and the waiter informed him that since we were doing the family style at our large table, everything they already had was already included and taken care of. Wow. I know a lot of places that would jump at the opportunity to "Double charge" a table and a waiter to get the double tip jackpot, especially when they are willing and ready to pay. Not this time. They truly want you to feel welcomed, and feel like you are part of their family. Go here, and when you do, make sure you bring an extra pair of socks with you, because this staff is set to knock the pair you're...
