Came here for breakfast today and the waiter obviously didn’t want to service me or she was overworked and rushing. When trying to place my order I asked for well done home fries and she responded by saying ( ok we will make sure they are burnt ) this set the tone for the service and she continued with this vibe . To which I responded no not burnt just well done. From this point on she didn’t fully hear me out with anything I had to say and assumed she knew all of my statements before I even got them out which resulted in confusion and aggravation ( because she assumed the wrong thing each time and walked away before even hearing me out) . Not only did I not get what I asked for additionally it didn’t seem that she cared about what I wanted and she assumed she knew. The food is ok but the service here leaves me wishing I would have just cooked at home. Then upon leaving , ( I didn’t eat , I was to annoyed with the service, ) . I asked for a to go container and the waiter handed me the most dirty and used to go container possible, ( it had grease and old food residue in it) . Luckily I got a clean one . This experience was very saddening and makes me question if I should come back. Also they have a certain spot at the bar seating that they use for meals that are done and it leaves you no room to enjoy your meal ,as they regularly toss food that is done there, ( I would hate to eat something that has been sitting and breathed on by others before it gets to me, don’t sit at the bar in the middle...

The person, who I assume was the owner, went back to standing behind the line jawing at this staff while the cashier was busy filling a phone order and taking more phone calls.
After 5 minutes of patiently waiting, an older woman rushed in, cut in front of me, and began barking a bagel order to the owner. He quickly rushed to the counter to fill her request.
I had to walk out.
This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been ignored because I don’t look a certain way. However, this was particularly hurtful because it happened in my neighborhood and at a place I was looking forward...
Read moreAs a regular customer and neighbor in the area, I’ve always enjoyed Pete’s Diner and the food they serve. However, I’ve noticed some issues with pricing consistency. Every time I order my usual, the price seems to change. For instance, a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich with two slices of cheese and double eggs (because they usually only include one egg) costs $9 one day, but last week, I was charged $6.50 for the same order. Similarly, when I’ve ordered waffles, eggs, home fries, and bacon, it’s sometimes $23 and other times $20 for the exact same platter. On top of that, the prices are quite high overall.
This inconsistency is frustrating, and it’s one of the main reasons I refrain from visiting the restaurant as often as I’d like. I really try to avoid going in because every time I do, I know I’m likely to be charged a different price for...
