I decided to go into this restaurant since the pleasant smells are always killing me when I got to my podiatrist upstairs. The food did not disappoint. The rice is not what you typically get in Chinese food places (especially your greesy spoon joint that people have grown to love because of their cheap and conveint accessibility), so don't come here if that is what you are expecting/craving. The rice tastes simple and healthy, and also was soft and flavorful-- the kind of food you get in more pricer restaurants. I typically have issues with oily food, and I had no issues with that here. The quality of ingrediants are fantastic and that is what you are paying for in the high quality meats they use. I definitely would recommend trying the special bowls with meats since they enhanced and complemented the dish (I recommend the cumin lamb, and my husband loved the beef short rib). The meats are perfectly marinated and seasoned that elevate the rice. I also appreciated the vegetables which completed the meal. I highly recommend if you want a healthier version of fried rice that tastes delicious. In addition, the staff were super friendly, helpful, and took the time to answer all of my questions before I ordered for the first time to ensure I got what I wanted. PS- For the few reviews that complained about staff touching broccoli before cooking, this is acceptable in all NYC restaurants, as per the food handlers health and mental hygiene guidlines. Only after the food is cooked is when food workers need a barrier of some sort (i.e. gloves, utensils, food paper, etc.), which I observed they followed. Great...
Read moreThe owner is one of the most unprofessional individuals I have ever spoken to. The way i was treated was unbelievable. I made a purchase online and for some reason i never received a confirmation code. I went to the establishment mind you I live like 2 mins away. Once I showed up the first employee refused to help me and once someone that could actually speak to me with out a langue barrier showed up all they did was brush me off i explained the situation and thats when they called the owner. They put the owner on the phone and initially said no worries he was going to fix it. He asked for prove as i sent him the pictures of the transaction for my bank. All the sudden the attitude changed and now he became hostile. He started calling me a scammer and started threatening to call the cops. Be mindful i wasn’t even in the establishment anymore as he had said he’d take care of it in like 15 mins. Well the end of it all i was treated with the such disrespect its unbelievable. Below you can see the messages. This is the owner. This is a prime example of how a small business shouldn’t be run. This should be embarrassing and I’m embarrassed to have such an establishment in my neighborhood. We need better business with individuals that actually care for their...
Read moreFirst time eating here. Nothing very exciting and the rice is more moist then I expected. The sauce wasn’t very good either. I thought this were new and creative but I was wrong. Would not recommend. Kind of expensive compare to the size. Respond to owners comment: I actually really like it when owner of the restaurant respond to reviews because that way I know they are paying attention to their customer view. So thank you for that. And I should apologize for the comment about the size comparison with price. As size doesn’t always determine the price tag of quality ingredients. But I also like to add even with most pricey ingredients if the outcome isn’t all that great then the ingredients is a waste no matter the price. I also understand with the cheapest ingredients like rice with the right skill it could be priced higher. But agree to add more rice when it wasn’t that well prepare already is not the solution. Again this is my view, so for those that likes this place I encourage them to keep going there as we all should be able enjoy what we like. Unfortunately this is not the...
