Bolivian Llama Party is an absolute treasure tucked away in the vibrant neighborhood of Sunnyside, New York. From the eclectic music to the warm, welcoming ambience, this Bolivian restaurant has cultivated a dining experience that transcends the ordinary.
The star of their menu, for me, is unquestionably the salteña. This traditional Bolivian pastry offers an adventure in every bite. It appears simple at first, but the magic reveals itself as you bite into it - the soupy interior is an explosion of flavors, drawn from the rich, savory broth that seeps into the dough, infusing it with a delectable taste that is simply indescribable.
My other go-to order is their chicharron strips, a delightful play on the concept of fried chicken. These thin, crispy strips crackle in your mouth, leaving behind a lingering taste of succulence and crunchiness that is downright addictive.
But the culinary journey at Bolivian Llama Party doesn't end there. Their most unique offering, and perhaps the secret to their extraordinary flavors, is the green sauce. This sauce is a blend of fresh cilantro and smooth mayo, resulting in a harmonious fusion that provides the perfect complement to their dishes. Each spoonful adds a refreshing and exciting dimension that tantalizes the taste buds, making each dish memorable.
Dining here isn't merely about indulging in Bolivian cuisine; it's about experiencing the heart and soul of Bolivia. The outdoor seating offers a pleasant ambiance with music filling the air, adding to the overall cultural experience. Nestled in a charming neighborhood, the location only adds to the appeal, making every visit feel like a mini getaway.
In conclusion, Bolivian Llama Party isn't just a restaurant; it's a sensory experience that keeps drawing me back. The food, ambiance, and warm neighborhood charm make it a place worth returning to time and again. Whether you're a seasoned gourmand or someone just looking to try something new, I can assure you that Bolivian Llama Party will leave a...
Read moreThis place was everything we hoped it would be! My daughter and I had it on our list as a must-try on a quick trip to NYC a month ago. We have spent a considerable amount of time in Bolivia over the years, visiting my Bolivian husband's (her father's) family. We know good Bolivian food -- and generally can't find it to enjoy where we live in the central US. We ordered the Chola sandwich, Sopa de Mani, the mixed plate of Rellenos and an order of the garlic fries. Our vegan friend had the jackfruit sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious -- we were not disappointed, except for the fact that we couldn't even finish the generous portions we had, so we couldn't try any of the rest of the delectable food. We adore salteñas so have put those on our list for the next time, along with pretty much everything else on their menu! We also loved the location and eating outside where we could observe New Yorkers going about their lives and could visit with others as they came to enjoy some of the best of the best in NYC food! It will be worth your trip from another borough, Long Island or Missouri to stop by and try out quality Bolivian food -- with some exquisite adaptations by this family of Bolivian brothers. Wishing you all the best -- we are encouraging our New Yorker friends to give you a try and will definitely make it a regular stop when...

Having a Bolivian mother, growing up with a love for Salteñas is pretty much a must. There used to be very few places where you could get them in Queens dating back to the 80s, 90s and now in the 2000s and those places are almost all gone and the ones left standing, leave a lot to desire now and no longer wanting to take the trek from New Jersey to Queens.
When we learned of BLP in 2020, I was skeptical because everyone says a place is good or a must and then you go and it's just OK. Didn't want to be letdown but, across two bridges we went.
Let me tell you, BLP did not disappoint! Their Salteñas are spot on! The size of them. The perfect dough. The delicious, plentiful filling. The soupy, juicy goodness.
You just cannot go wrong with this place. Hope these brothers will eventually open a sit down spot.
I make the drive from NJ that should take 35 minutes but is usually 1.5 hours min. because of the traffic, just to devour them. (Drive back home is always torture because their amazing smell takes over your car.
Oh, and the fact that I can also get them frozen and make at home... The instructions they have are spot on so they come out like you just got them at BLP and not your freezer. Make sure you get the thermometer and either bring a cooler or buy a cooler because you want to keep them frozen,...
