Rolen Bagels — Restaurant in New York

Do Not Go to this place... They give Fake Bills to the customers having the purple light bulb and didn't accept it... I came here on 02/12 visiting a friend in Riverdale. He told me, hey let's go to eat something. He as a local suggested me that place. I order a Pastrami Queen and paid with a 100$ bill. I received 85$ change and I didn't checked it. Back in home I check the bills and I received 2 20$ fake ones. They close super early so I didn't have time to go back on Monday. When I arrive I told them what happens. They didn't believe me and called the owner. The owner denies it completely that they do that to their customers... We had a discussion about it and he even threatened me to call the police and see what happens with his attitude... Dude, do you think that I have time for this??? Do you think that I would risk my reputation on Google reviews and lying to you about what your crew members did? even in the cash register is a camera. He just basically tell me: I would give you one 20$ bill and no more... Avoiding accountability and non professional behaviour. Ok man, First time and last to this unethical and...

I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 years. I have a myriad of health issues, including being hearing impaired. I have a service dog and have had some very good and VERY bad experiences with him being allowed in businesses in this neighborhood. It is humiliating to be told to leave an establishment because you are in need of assistance.

If the owners of Rolen are reading this, please let me tell you how wonderful your staff are. The first time I went into Rolen I prepared myself to have that experience, as I have so often. It was such a relief and a joy to be greeted with a smile and asked how they could help me. I became a loyal customer that very moment. Your staff always treat me like a normal person and I can't tell you how much that means to me.

Although this sounds like standard customer service, I find that lacking in most places these days. You can be sure I will be at Rolen every Sunday for my weekly fix of your delicious bagels.

I went to the other Rolens bagel shop on 235th & Netherland Av., since this shop was closed on the Sabbath. While I was in the shop, I saw a woman worker or manager abuse one of the men workers in front of the customers, that you do not do in front of customers!!!! I intervened & asked her why is she being a bully & she replied that I was none of my business & a disgrace to mankind!!! Then she threw the bag of bagels at me, there was no call for that & Ieft the store!!! I beleive this person has multiple personal issues with the help in the store as well as being nice & polite with the customers!! I do not believe that Lenny Rolen would tolerate such behavior from...
